What do you want to happen to your body when you die?

Cremated, buried, or donated to science? I'm not italicizing towards a grim subject here I was just having this conversation the other day with my wife. I want to be cremated and my ashes spread over the Atlantic Ocean. I know it sounds cliche but those are my last wishes. Comment if you want to.

If that day will come to me I prepared also to be cremated and put my ashes on a jar and put it someplace in our house hahaha.. sound a little bit morbid but that what I want. Well it's nice also to spread in the ocean so that you will be free.

Keep the urn, let yourself go.

My hubby and I have talked about this and have made our wishes known to our children that we both want to be creamated, not buried, and I want my ashes to be sent back to Scotland and scattered in a certain area of the town where I was born - with a piper playing the bagpipes!

Well, I sincerely hope i'll be at least a litte choped uo (i'm and organ donor) but then I want to be placed into a biodegradeable coffin, naked, and buried anywhere. I'm not picky - i'd like to be buried in the forest, but I don't really want my parents or husband or children to get in trouble for burying me somewhere they aren't suppsed to.

You might have to make some arrangments with somebody about that request.

myself...i just wanna be buried and be done with it. dig a hole and throw me in and im good. never liked the idea of an urn. i just find it creepy that some people will cremate their loved ones, and keep them on a jar on the mantle over the fire place or some such nonsense. *shudders* it just creeps me out.

That creeps me out too, I would never ask my wife to do that, she wouldn't do it anyway. I've seen an urn with someones ashes in it, nothing too bizare about it, but keeping it around on display, too much.

Hello, gitfiddleplayer! I have decided to donate my organs to the medical college for use by the needy people.why should we waste these organs?why not utilise these for some ones life?let us be generous.thanx.

I'm having to backtrack because initially I left off that I wanted to donate my organs, then be cremated. I agree, my organs may help prolong someones life, you're right too.

I want to help somebody before I die, not because I want to end up in a better place, but because once I die, it doesn't matter if I have a heart, an eye or something else, but somebody, maybe even a kid would need something . I would like something useful to come out of my body. If I am dieing, they why wouldn't I help somebody else live, that has a chance? If my organs will be to old for donation or something ( if that is possible ), i still want something useful to become of my body, science, or anything. Being cremated is just a waste. If I am not able to help anybody with anything, than I guess I want to be thrown away on the ocean.

Cremated. Don't want to be stuck in the earth.

Since I was young I always wanted to be cremated. The idea of bugs crawling all of my body creeps me out. I know, I wouldn't know, but just the idea of it... I want part of my ashes spread back home in the country where I came from, and part of my ashes here, in my new country.

That's an interesting idea about ashes in two different countries.

It is, most people don't plan for it and have to make their loved ones hope they are doing the right thing for them. A simple verbal wish can be carried by conversation, most people just don't do it.
