Are you closer to your mom or your dad?

for me i am not really closer to either one. i love them both but they have disappointed me so much over the years and hurt me that it chipped away at my feelings for them. i have found a way to come to terms with it all and so i still have a good relationship with each of them but it is not what i would wish it could be. i used to feel very close to both of them but it was more of a fabrication of what my relationship really was with them in my own mind that allowed me to have such fond feelings for them. when people hurt you, even though it may not be deliberate, it still hurts. they never did anything terrible that i could not forgive them for but they have said or done things that have hurt me and i just don't feel the same as i used to. so who are you closer to and why?
