i believe reading is better way to learn than watching, if "watching" you refer to is something like watching television.

There is so much more one can take from reading than from watching. First of all not everything is in video format so therefore at some point everyone has to do some reading. So its a pretty good idea to read so that your mastery of it increases. The more you read the better youll understand other things you read.

I prefer to read something. I find it hard to associate watching something with learning anything.

I guess watching. If the pictures and graphics are good I guess watching is the best way of learning and I guess people tend to remember something they've seen for much longer time than something they've read. Simple example , many of us read newspapers. After reading a newspaper how many things you remember correctly even after a day or two? In comparison if you watch same news on television it gets stuck in your mind and it stays there for longer time :)

You learn from both methods I guess. I'd prefer watching if the graphics is good and the dialogue is simple. However, if the storyline is too complicated and there are many steps to follow, then I'd prefer reading just so that I can always go back to a previous chapter or section and re-read parts I didn't understand.
