I am one of the rare people who doesn't schedule their lives around their responsibilities, i.e. work, kids, life in general! I on the other hand work for myself, from home, I don't drive (though I own a car, as does my bf), and I go to bed whenever I feel the need to day or night, and I am rarely wakened by an alarm or the need to show up somewhere by a certain time. This is rare for me that I am expected anywhere anywhen. I like it though. It is not structured enough for the great majority of human beings but it seems to suit me perfectly. i get everything that I want to accomplish accomplished in the span of my days. So do you think it is better to live according to clocks and schedules or is it preferrable to go by your internal clock for schedule adjustments?

I think that is wonderful for you. If it is working then great! My family does dictate my time most of the time but I do my own thing when it comes to sleeping and such. I am sure at some point when the children are gone I will be able to do things when I want. I admire the fact that you can do that!

I wish I could do that but I have to work outside of the home so I'm a prisoner of the alarm clock and schedules. My husband is disabled so he has the freedom that you do. We have found that if he totally listens to his body clock he ends up in a cycle that has him staying up all night long and asleep during the day. He also feels tired and depressed if he sleeps for too long but, so far, he doesn't agree with me that sleeping too much is the culprit. Our bodies have a natural rhythm and I think it's good to be able to live according to that if you can. Wish I could.
