Ok, we all know how to rate discussions. We give positive rate to discussions and comments that satisfies us. And negative, to the one that is not so good. But can we know who rated us? This is to acknowledge him for the positive rate he gave. Or just to know, from him why he rated us negative? Is is possible to know your rater?

I noticed that theres no way to know who rated us, including the information of being rated negative or positive here @ myLot. Unless our friends tells us about it. For me its better that we wont know, this is to avoid conflicts among members. Its normal that we will be hurt when rated negative especially when its not really acceptable to us so chances are, we will be rating back the person negative also. So it would lead to unhealthy discussions already... That is why I dont rate negative, I respect each opinion or ideas here. And we have the right to express our own opinion. So I only give positive ratings.

i don't think that the admin will let us know who rates us. it will be bias if we know who they are. in my opinion it will affect our relationship with the other mylotters. or will cause us to take revenge to those who will rate us negative! yes your motive is good that you want to acknowledge them but i think it would be better if we just thank him anonymously. (just my opinion) have a nice day!

I too guess that it would be some kind of revenge on the negative ratee. Thanks chechuva.

It is hard to verify who rated us. But on my own, I think the one who rates my discussion are the ones who responded to my own discussions and also the owner of the discussions whom I responded to, coz that's the way I rate others. Those who responded to my discussions and the topics which I responded, I always rate positive. I never rated negative. If I am not satistied with the response made or the topic discussion coz its just a one-liner, I just don't rate it, leave it at that, but never rate negative.

that would be best i we know the one who rate us positive or negative but mylot didn't do that because of many problems may arise if that so happen. of course if you know the person who rated you negative you tend to ask him/her why she/he rated you. By making unknown to the rater mylot take away the tendency of dispute, quarrel and misunderstanding.

You may be true to this julyteen. I will agree with you that if it happen that we know our rater, especially negative rater, there might be some dispute and quarrels to happen...

You will get a notification when you receive a best response in a discussion so in that event you do know who has selected your response as best in their discussion. Otherwise I see not point in knowing who is rating your responses. Everyone should be rating each response, if they think it deserves a positive. If not leave it. If it is somehow not a good response it can be given a negative rating.

As far as I know, we will not know who rated us. But it will be good if we will know who they are so we can know whom we satisfied with our discussions or comments.

There is no way to know who rated us here on MyLot, and on most other websites where ratings are involved. Rating is almost always anonymous, so as to not have the rated retaliate against the rater, but sadly this anonymous system allows the rater to pick on the rated. Either way there are advantages and disadvantages.

I suppose there is no such feature available here in Mylot. Having this feature causes both benifits as well as drawbacks. knowing who rated negative, can cause unwanted chemistry to be developed among the members. So its the feature not to be here. What do you say. cheers

Well I guess, it's good that mylot never shown that feature...

It would be nice to know who rated us what. That way we could atleast ask why...or reciprocate...But the reciprocation is probably WHY we cant see the rater. It could possibly start nasty rating wars. It would also be nice to have a list of "friends" that had been on our list but for some reason removed us or we removed them for inactivity...then we could readd those at a later date if wanted. Theres a few friends i'm sure i had but I cant for the life of me find them. It would be nice to see if someone really deleted us...or if im just a crazy forgetful person!

That is good that there isn't way to know them. That would really put some wars in here. I guess, I should haven't ask this question...

We can't find out who rated us. I think that's good, because I think sometimes when you give someone a negative rating, that person might want to take revenge and rate you negative as well. Not because your response or discussion wasn't good, but just to get back at you! That's why the anonymity probably is a good thing. :)
