What's everyone's favourite musical

High School Musical is basically the new Grease. I've seen both TV movies and they aren't that bad, lol. I admit it. But, my favorite movie musical, hands down, is Rent. I've seen the Broadway show and I think it's one of the best ever written. Jonathan Larson is my hero. He wrote the music and lyrics with sincerity. I think the director of the film version did a great job at capturing the theme and the story on camera. It's sad to see that the show is leaving now.

I also love High School Musical.. well, that's for the modern musical...for the classic ones, I really like Mary Poppins!! it's the best!! and I also love the "Sound of Music" and I just recently watched the french film "Les Choristes". I don't know if it falls under the category but I love the songs there. I suggest you guys watch it...:)

My favorite musical is the movie Grease. That has to be the all time best musical ever. That is the movie that mad John Travolta famous I won't ever get tired of watching Grease. I don't like part 2 that well though.

I am not really into musicals but if i had to chose a favourite it would be Oliver, the original film. Also enjoy the original Charlie and the Chocolate factory. My daughter loves High School musical as well

I love musicals, except for Grease and Evita, both of which I've managed to fall asleep through everytime, whether I'm watching the film versions or actually at theatre productions! One of my favourite musical is Jesus Christ Superstar because the music and lyrics are absolutely amazing. I also really love the wizard of Oz, Bugsy Malone, Oliver and Joseph. Though I think my all time favourite has to be Rocky Horror Picture Show. Really fantastic, especially sing along versions!
