There are plenty of negative connotations to being materialistic but is it really such a bad thing? Some people will insist that we should not have any worldly possessions but rather live as one with the earth (or a similar alternative).
What do you think about materialism?

If we are too materialistic then it can be a problem because we will always find something new to buy even if we are really out of budget but if we can manage our money then i guess it will be okay as long as we know how to handle money and things that we really need.

So materialism is fine as long as we manage it properly so that we have some money left over for the important things. Thanks for the reply.

Resourceful materialism, I can see as a good thing. Naturally humans want things that make their lives better, easier, etc. And there's nothing wrong with that. However, I don't think believing that your material possessions define you or validate you as a person is healthy. It's great to have nice things, but you should be responsible about it; don't go into debt, and don't waste things needlessly (for example, don't buy those expensive Nike shoes when you can barely afford to feed yourself).
