Save on electricity tip 2
I have this bad habit of leaving my computer on if I go out awhile because i don't want to waste time re-booting, but most of the time, i don't get to come home as quickly as i thought i would. sometimes, my computer would be on for hours before i get home. it is crazy.
so my rule now is, if i am going to leave my computer for more than an hour, i turn it off. or the safest would be, if i go out of the house, i turn it off. that will save us so much money.
it will save the life of your computer, too. :-)

Let me suggest instead, setting your computer where it will go into sleep mode when you're going to be gone more than 30 minutes. I've been told by several computer techs that every time you have to reboot your computer, that it takes off a day in it's life!

Hello,spoiled! I usually keep my computer off when i am not working in it.it will save consumption of electricity as well as save the computer from mishandling by the children.thanx.

Well, i see your point, but what if you are doing a scan of your computer, or defraging your hard drive, and you walked away. That would be fine, because its being used. But i agree, don't leave your computer on all the time.

i don't usually turn off my pc because I always download stuffs when I am away or when I am asleep.

i do turn my computer off...but sometimes i do leave it running if i have a purpose for it, like im working on something. it depends on the situation. like if i were working on a blog and i had to get away for a while...i will leave the computer on till i got back and finish what i was doing
