I'm always having to tell my kid to turn the TV down!

My little kid loves to sit in front of the TV with the sound cranked up to crazy proportions. I know that she has good hearing, cause she can hear me from across the room. I guess she likes watching her cartoons loud, because of all the zany sound effects.
She cranks up the volume. And, then I ask her to turn it down. She turns it down. And, five minutes later, you can hear the TV from across the house. Anyway, that's my complaint with my kid, these days. I know that she's not doing it to be mean. She's just a little kid.
Are you always reminding your kids to do something, time and again? And, yet, they still keep doing the same thing?

Yes, mines do the same thing. I will tell my kids to turn the T.V. down too. Then on top of that, they stand in front of the T.V. all day long. It is aggravating, I know.. Hopefully, they will out grow this and be more silent... I am praying for my situation to change too.

Yes! Mine did the same thing, with standing too close to the TV. I kept telling her to move back, but she just wouldn't listen. So, I played on the kid's natural instinct to be a lounge lizard and put a big over-stuffed green chair in front of the TV. Now, she doesn't stand in front of the TV anymore. She lounges at a safe distance. Thanks for dropping by!

What parent today dosnt have a child that they have to keep reminding to do something. LOL
I have to keep reminding my kids to put there dishes in the sink when they are done, or throw away there wrappers from there snacks. It drieves me nuts but I know that eventually they will get tired of me reminding them and just do it themselves.

I have to remind my hubby to do the same thing. He's a big kid. He doesn't like housework either.

My son turns up his TV really loud, too. He doesn't currently have his TV in his room, because he lost that privilege when he knocked it off the TV stand. We're getting him a wall mount thing and giving it back to him soon, though. Then I will probably have to frequently remind him again that he isn't supposed to turn the TV up full blast!
As far as other things, he's only 2, so there are a lot of things that I have to remind him of frequently. He just doesn't have a good enough memory yet to remember every little thing that I tell him every day.

Hi There!
Yup...I am always reminding my kids to do things and they constantly do not do them. I too don't think they do it to be mean but at the same time I really believe they need to learn to always be respectful of others. In later life when they are on their own they need to have those skills. That is the reason I always go on about it with them...teaching for the future.
cheers,

Thats normal for kids. Even adults do the same thing. Just be patient.

Almost the same problem, but it's my mother. She has hearing aids, but I swear she has them turned off. The tv is so lound. We have closed captioning, but now we have the annoying words at the bottom and the tv loud. Especially bad when you come home with a headache and you can hear the tv from outside.
