Yea I got a check in the mail today from someone posing as a pastor.According to the senders instructions.I am to cash it at my bank and send some somewhere else and keep the remainder.
Yea right.Well this yahoo also got my e-mail addy and when I checked my mail earlier
He wanted to know about the check stating that he trusted me.Well I responded, informing him that If I deposited it into my bank, it would sit there a good long while until the bank either tells me it is good or they turn it over to whoever handles scams.
Because otherwise I won't be touching it for myself much less send anything out.Now I wonder if I'll hear anymore about this phony check.
I feel sorry for the poor dumb people who do believe this sort of thing. The only thing worse than being broke,is being broke and stupid.

I got one a few weeks ago for 3,800 or something like that. I was to deposite it in my checking acount, once it cleared I would receive a check for 35,000 and it would come UPS or Fedx...a big load of hooey.
My husband researched it online and there were warnings about it being fraudulent.
Then a few days later I saw on the internet where this man was locked up because he got one in the mail for 5,000 and cashed it to pay bills.
Can you believe they charged him, and as far as I know have done nothing to the scammers? This poor fellow thought he had won some kind of sweepstakes, and kept waiting for the rest of it to be deposited in his account.

Yea that's crazy to lock up the victom rather than the scammer who sent the phony check.I really don't get it.

Please hand it over to the proper authorities. Although you are smart enough to know this is phony, there are unfortunately those, who think this is for real, mostly older people. This person needs to be caught before they find a sucker who actually falls for his/her scam.
