Has anybody ever come in contact with a long lost family member?

My niece called out of the blue to get some family history and we went to dinner. I had not seen her since she was a baby. It went great I thought, but I know it must have been weird for her. Has anyone ever had this experience?

Yes, actually I have. I didn't see my sister for about 10 years. I finally saw her back in 2001 at my kids birthday party. It was a bit awkward for me at first, but once I said hi to her she snubbed me and it was like nothing changed so I said nothing more to her. I haven't seen her since, though I have tried to contact her for our mom's sake. Unfortunately my sister wants nothing to do with her or my mom's side of the family.

I saw my half-sister for the first time in 23 years last month and it was really awkward. We got along all right but we really don't know each other. Last summer I got to see my Dad and Stepmom for the first time after 22 years and that was a big thing. It wasn't awkward at all and I loved seeing them. **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

I thought our meeting went great. I'm going to give her a call in a day or to to see if she wants to stay in touch. It was really nice seeing her.
