There's a quaint little Japanese restaurant near my house called Omakase which I absolutely love, not only because of the wallet-friendly prices but also because the food's just great! They serve the best kinds of makis (hand rolled sushi usually with rice) which stand out from ordinary makis. My all time favorite is the dynamite roll. It has ebi tempura inside and spicy tuna on top. Yum! They also have a jurassic maki which has ebi tempura inside and unagi on top. I'd love to hear about the yummiest maki's you guys have had, so please share blow!

oh, your jurassic sushi sounds REALLY lovely! my favorite place to get original and tasty maki closed down several years ago :( ever since, i've been sad to lose my favorite fried onions and eel-sauce veggie roll. if memory serves, it had sliced carrots, the browned onions, green eel sauce, cucumber, lettuce and tempura flakes. REALLY good. i think the onions gave it something different i have yet to taste in other maki since then.

Wow, that sounds like a really great restaurant! Very unique names for maki rolls. I'd have to say, the best maki I've ever had came from a restaurant in Pittsburgh, PA called Sushi Two. It was a Philadelphia roll: Crab, cream cheese, tuna, and a teeny bit of the red roe and sesame seeds on the outside (it's one of those inside-out rolls with the rice on the outside instead of the nori). With a little bit of ginger and wasabe on top... MMMmm!

Of all the maki's that was served to me, the most I love and still crave every now and then was California maki. I love the mangoes and crab stick on it. And with a matching sauce of Kikoman soy soauce, calamansi and wasabe...Oh, I feel like eating right now...LOL
