Yes, how romantic Paris is supposed to be. I think I'd like to go to Japan. Maybe Okinowa or Taiwan. Exotic, wonderful out door markets. My husband was born in Tai Pei - so he has relatives there, and his mother and father contracted to the military so he also grew up in Okinawa.
But paris, yeah that would be special.
If you've heard of Jesse Spencer, he proposed to his ex girlfriend their - now that's romantic!

We got married December 2001. And yes, we did get to our dream destination honeymoon. Unfortunately, my new husband ate something at the restaurant and I spent the whole honeymoon night, taking care of him. What he ate made him nauseated the whole night. But he got better the next morning when he was able to vomit. And when he felt a WHOLE lot better, we had our proper honeymoon!
It was fun and very memorable. Why I almost fell victim to a pickpocket while we were strolling at the park.
That incident happened before my husband fell victim to food poisoning. Now, I really thought for sure that our honeymoon was completely ruined from the start. But we went back home happy and smiling. We didn't let the ugly events that happened ruin our special day.

Thanks. I found out by accident that a member has the same avatar. I thought my dancing little bird was an original.

Married 26 years as of April 2008
Yes we had a honeymoon and we were very eager to get on that honeymoon as we had never done anymore than kiss while we were dating. :)
We went to Ontario so my new wife could see where I was raised so of course we had to do the Niagara Falls thing. It was a beautiful as ever.
We ate at the top of one of the rotating towers and I had to eat with my head up all through dinner because I was getting motion sick as the tower slowly turned.
How did we pay for it all. We kinda lucked out as one of our friends threw us a wedding shower with a money tree instead of physical gifts. We made enough money to pay for our honeymoon and still buy a few things. It was great.

Wow twenty six years - congratulations! We haven't had one yet, but eventually we want to visit his relatives in Taiwan so we can call that a honeymoon, not now though!
We actually married three years ago -went to vegas, so no showers or presents! Your honeymoon sounds great though - what a trooper - I would have left if I felt sick. :) Not very romantic!

My ex-husband and I went on a driving trip to the East Coast for our honeymoon. We mainly went out that way to do some genealogy research and to see Gettysburg. So yes, my honeymoon was looking for cemeteries and looking at battlefields. Oddly enough, I loved it. :)
In our case, we paid for it, though we did have a lot of friends and family members who gave us money for the wedding, some of which was used for the honeymoon.

Hi There,
When I first married I did not have enough money to have a proper honeymoon. We were saving our money and were putting it all inot that. Eventually her parents sent us to Austria to go skiing ( I am from Canada). That was pretty nice but the marriage wasn't as it finally ended in divorce. Now I am with someone new so I will need to start thinking about this again soon!
cheers,

A second honeymoon! And you're no longer with the person that wasn't right for you - two great things. One great thing in the past and one to look forward to!
