For those of you who write at Helium, what is your best use of time there?

Writing more articles, improving the articles you already wrote (leapfrogging), or promoting your articles (Yahoo, facebook, etc)? I'm at 19 dollars and I would like to get my next 6 dollars for payout soon. So I was wondering what would my best use of time would be right now? Or should I do a combination? If I combine them, what percentage of each should I use/has worked best for you?

I have to admit I have not been on Helium as much lately, but I am getting to fixing that right now. I was wondering though, I have leapfrogged several articles and they have been rejected. And the articles were fixing typos and actually cleaning up (editing) and was wondering why someone would reject it. I understand that if it was completely a different thing, but isn't that part of the whole revisions thing...i dunno. I haven't broke $1.00 yet, and I only have 1 star, I have been getting better about the rating articles (I am doing right now) and need to focus on the writing too. I also promote it on my website, so do you have suggestions on how I can get better results on the leapfrog or articles in general so I can start adding up $$$ there. It seems difficult, I've been on there since last Fall. Thanks

Try to write on a variety of topics until you find your niche. My best money makers are how to topics and ones about health or personal appearance. Once you find which ones make you the most money, stick with those areas. Does your Mylot profile have a link to your Helium articles? That helps. I can go check out some of your articles that way and help you out. You can go to my Mylot profile and link to my articles that way, too. Usually I can find 1 to 3 articles of interest from someone else and vice versa. The way they have leapfrog at Helium is confusing to people. Like you have to pick which is better. Actually picking SAME is best. That way the one they leapfrogged gets accepted. Otherwise you have to guess in some cases because the changes are so slight and hard to pick out. Please read the community bullitin board about these topics. Hope this helps.

Just tried to find a link on your profile so I could go to Helium, not there yet. That's OK. do you know the number of your articles page or your about me page at Helium? You could PM me. I'm trying to accept friends, but I've been getting kicked off lately when I try. I hoped it would clear up, if it doesn't, I'll have to contact Helium. Take care.

Yeah that did help clear up the leapfrogging...I was checking the marketplace every other day until I started on here....I have been with Heium for awhile and was mainly using the contests for writing...too afraid to jump into the marketplace until recently. I'll try and see if I can figure out how to put the link on my profile. And welcome any bit of advice I can get. Oh, and honestly, I just got over some writer's block (of about four years or so) last year...so I am a bit rough around the edges....but that is how you grow, right? Thanks again.

I think a combination of those things is a good use of your time. I think you should also be doing some rating as this helps your own articles to be rated more. I have four rating starts but no writing stars yet. I have sold one article so far. I think it is worth trying to write for the Marketplace and entering some contests. If you don't sell or win you will still earn from those articles. I wish you well with making enough to reach payout soon. I need another $14 to get paid, so I am writing more and rating more.

Thank you very much, I iwll try to do both. Do you have a link from your profile to your Helium articles? I have a link from my Mylot to my Helium. If you have a link, then I could read some of yours and help you get some money. You could do likewise. There are usually 1 to 3 articles I find of interest of someone elses and vice versa. Just a thought, take care.

Yes of course I will look at your articles. The link in my profile is to my blog, and I have links to my Helium articles on my blog.

Writing more articles is definitely an option. You should always be thinking about your next project to work on. Along the way you can improve the articles you feel could have been better in some way. Doing a combination of them will most likely increase your earnings faster. So, how did you get up to 19 bucks? I've been on there for a year and I've barely made anything. How do you promote your work? I've posted the url at a couple of places, but nothing seems to be working.
