When I was in my high school days, I don't have any so-called study habits. But when I entered the college years in which I took a medical course, I told myself, I need to have a study habit. It wasn't really exactly a study habit but a time management while studying.
Since you're a college student now, manage your time properly. If you have very difficult subjects, after your class discuss with friends or scan it when you get home. Scanning your notes once in a while during the days will prevent you from crumming on exam week because its definitely a review for you because you have studied it before. Always take notes of the important details that the teacher is saying. If you don't understand, make sure to ask about it. Don't be shy.
During exam week I usually study with friends because in my course we need to do a lot of comprehension aside from memorization of facts. I definitely need somebody to keep me awake and my friends usually share the pnemonics they made just to remember a set of words.

When I was still a student, I don't study all the time. I only study when a major exam will come. Preparing for the exam, I make a summary, it contains all the important things I need to know... And that is when the time, I go to the library, and have some moments alone, away but at distance with my friends and classmate, in case I don't understand something. Although, I don't study most of the time, but I am a disciplined creature, because when in is an examination week. I don't do stuffs that does not concern my studies.
