I've had a number of pairs break on me. Worst was whilst I was driving, especially as I didn't have a spare pair with me, as I wasn't in my own car.

I wear daily replaceable contact lenses these days. If one falls out I can get another one out of my hand bag. I do need a mirror to look in so I can get it into my eye. I also require clean hands to do this. In the days I had glasses I had a normal pair and some prescription sunglasses. In Australia I was in the sea wearing the sunglasses and a wave went over my head. Someone grabbed my sunglasses but one of the lenses had fallen out. I found the sun too bright to go around in my normal glasses. I went for an appointment at an optician and got my prescription sunglasses fixed.

haha, my glasses usually suffer horrible fates under my care. - one was chewed to bits by my dog - I have stepped on, rolled over and sat on numerous glasses - once while i was on this boat trip, I dived with my glasses on (great way to lose your glasses!) - contact lenses usually just go suddenly missing sigh, I hate this condition but your dicussion about it eas fun. thanks! :)

I haven't lost my glasses. I have however broken them. It was embarrassing. We had a band concert at school. We had uniforms we had to wear. After the concert, I was in the bathroom changing into my regular clothes. While doing this, my glasses fell off my face. Instead of picking them up right away, I left them on the floor and finished getting ready. I finish changing and step to leave and I hear "CRAAACKKK". I had stepped on my glasses and broken the lenses. I then pick them up and go into the band room holding them. My friends are hanging out and I go over there and I hold my glasses out and am like "I broke my glasses" and they all laughed. They thought it was pretty hillarious. Some were still making fun of it a year later.

Well, I haven't lost any contact lens ever since. I was just so careless that when I put it on its case, the lid closes to it and it was ripped! I was so dumb, as I remember. There were times that I drop them and fortunately, I found them. I both have lenses and glasses. I'm more careless about my glasses. I don't even bother if I sit on them. They're pretty strong and I have them for around 2 years already. That's the metal one. I bought another pair of glasses which was made in plastic and it's pretty durable though you can't adjust it's compatibility with your nose bridge. LOL Good luck manya_pearl with your future mylotting. :]

When I was a kid I did lose my glasses, and I have also broken glasses, just recently in fact. I don't prefer glasses to contacts it actually varies while I prefer contacts if I am going to be spending time out of doors, and at times because it is just easier, they don't get dirty and smudged the way glasses do, and being so light sensitive that I need to use a variety of levels of sun glasses, very dark to very light, to protect my eyes and still be able to see, I would spend a fortune on prescription sunglasses to get the level of shading I may need during the course of the day. On the other hand, I use my glasses for distance, so if I am wearing glasses and then decide to say read a book it is much easier to just take the glasses off than it is to take the contacts out. So at times contacts are better, at other times glasses are better. I have lost contact lenses and have such odd vision that so long as I have the left one in, I can still see quite well in fact well enough to drive, But if I lose my glasses or lose the right lens to the glassses I am not going to go around wearing glassed with just one lens, and if they are lost, I do not have the partial vision I have when I wear contacts and lose only one.

I lost one pair in high school, I had another pair break. I gave my last pair, that I had a change of prescription to one of those charities that find someone else who can use them. They were pretty ugly.

Boy, have I ever gone through a lot of glasses and contact lenses in my time. I have been wearing glasses since I was 10 years old and I am now 51 years old, so for over 40 years. I have broken way too many to actually put a number to them, and I have ripped more contact lenses than I can say, over the years. Most of the time that I have broken my glasses, has usually been because I fall asleep with them on and end up breaking the arms off. I have broken many a pair by playing some sport and got them knocked off or just broken right on my face. I had worn contact lenses for about 25 years and I have ripped more than I can say. I have bought a new pair and within a week I have ripped one of them and had to have it replaced. I have always bought insurance on my contacts but they don't offer insurance on glasses, I wish they did. In my 40 years I have probably spent 10 to 15 thousand dollars, maybe more, for glasses and contacts and solution for my contacts. So now I am hoping to get laser surgery on my eyes very soon. I am just waiting for my appointment for the specialist to see if I qualify for it. I sure hope so because I can't wait for the day that I don't have to wear glasses anymore. I don't wear contacts anymore because I can't, they give me a bad reation, flem in my eyes, since I wore them for way too many years, according to my eye doctor. My appointment is in September to see if I quailify and if I do they said it would only take a couple weeks before they can do them. So hopefully by the end of September I will see again and not with glasses on. I have sever back and neck problems now because I have to wear progressive glasses, like bifocals on can't see the line, and have to have my head tilted back to see the computer, so I can't stay on mylot too long, at a time.

Not really lose it actually. :P But I often forgot where I did put the glasses because without glasses my eyes are just poor in recognizing things. And I would seek for the glasses around the whole place. LOL. I know how you feel, I ever sat on my glasses too because I just forgot that the glasses were there. LOL.

I consider myself to be very blessed with this one. At times, it feels like I've worn glasses for just about ever. But in all the time I've worn them, I've neither lost or broken any. I can only imagine how frustrated you were when you broke your glasses those two times! I never like the thought of breaking or losing something that costly that I'll need to go out and replace! Personally, I've never gotten up the courage to try contacts. I'm very touchy about things being around my eyes, so I don't know if I'd be able to put contacts in or if I'd be too flinchy.

I have not physically lost any pair. So far, my track record has been breaking my glasses during ball games, either the ball hit me and the specs dropped or when the ball hits the glasses directly. There was once I broke it when sleeping with my glasses on.

When I was in elementary school I lost my glasses one night when I was on a hay ride with the kids from my church. When we got back to the home where the hay ride started everyone helped me try to find them but we were not successful. It was awful!!! When I went to school the Monday after that my teacher had to sit me in the front so that I could see the board until I was able to get my glasses replaced. Needless to say after that I was always careful with my glasses and still am until this date!!!

I lost two and i broke two also. The worst incident was when I had a vehicular accident and a screw of my glasses punctured the right lateral side of my eyes. No open wounds but blood formed in the part of my eyes. Since then I decided not to use rimless glasses.

i have worn glasses for 37 years and i have never lost a pair. that is because they are usually on my face and the only time i take them off is at night when i go to bed. i put them right on the nightstand and when i get up i put them right back on again.
