Do you stop to smell the flowers? Do you watch the leaves as they whip back and forth in the wind? Do you notice the white fluffy clouds above you? I think sometimes we get so caught up in the everyday struggles we forget to cherish the little things in life. Take some time today to cherish them as they will change tomorrow.

Never was a truer word spoken, as we say in Ireland.I have only realised the true meaning of life since I hit my thirties, and feel lucky, as this is the holy grail that most people never find. Smelling the flowers is THE ultimate experience, as the ability to appreciate life's little miracles opens the heart to accepting true and heartfelt joys and miracles throughout our whole living reality.

I agree so much with your comment! I wish I had figured this out earlier, but I consider myself fortunate as I think many people struggle throughout their life time to figure this one out.

Hi Tricia, It's the little things in life that seem to get left in the dark most of the times these days huh? I do cherish the little things. I really don't stop to smell the flowers but I do admire them. I love to blow bubbles, they make me feel at peace and give me time to think. I usually think about how hectic the world is and here I am taking time out to blow bubbles; creating something...watching them float in the sky and then suddenly vanish just as fast as they were created. I also love the little things my boyfriend may do for me or say to me. The best part is I know he means it and he knows I don't need him to get me extravagant stuff for me to be happy. Just getting a text knowing he is thinking about me, makes me feel so warm inside. The little things are really the best things in life...

It took retirement to make me realize how much wonderful things are ours for free. Flowers bright and gay and filled with perfume, trees all green and whipping in the breeze and clouds shaped like bears and monkeys and whatever your imagination dictates. I have watched a emerald green humming bird with a ruby throat as she sips nectar from a pink flowered hawthorne bush.her little wings are going so fast that they blur. lol.

A nice smile from my younger sister telling me that it is gonna be fine... it is just so wonderful.. .and sometimes, the best things in life are free... Cheers!

Oh I most certainly do! I didn't use to do this however... I was going through a really rough few years and so stressed and bogged down with the stresses of life that I never took the time to focus on the beauty of it that is right in front of us, everywhere! There is a really great book, one that I read, that made me start taking notice again. It is called the Power of Now. It really helped me get out of my rut and see the world around me.

Hi Tricia This is a great discussion. I know alot of people who dont take the time to notice things around them. I do take the time. For example the other day I was sitting outside and I saw little puffs of pollen coming out of the tree.LOL It looked like the tree was smoking!LOL Life is so precious we should always take time to notice things around us.

I always cherish my life. I try not to lose awareness of my surroundings... I guess that's how we go with the universe and become a complete human being :)

Every Sunday, I spend a few minutes with plants observing their condition. Among them is money plant leaves and roses in my flat.I regularly take photos of them with my digicam and put them on my desktop as wallpaper. I spend few minutes breathing fresh air. Listen to nightingale. Watch squirrels. I also cherish some forgotten eatables like candies of old brand.

I think it all depends. Now I think I do. When I walk back from the teaching building to my dorm, I always try to catch something nice. I think it can be beautiful and make me feel ralex. I agree with you that sometimes we are too busy to notice these little things in life. We should learn to cherish before losing them.

ido try to cherish the little things and i point them out to my 7 year old as much as possible. the greatest things in life are free: love, air, clouds, the blue sky, trees, flowers, birds and on and on. you are right. we are so overwhelmed with every day life that much of it goes unappreciated and unnoticed.

I am a camera fanatic. I love to snap photos of nature. Sunsets, flowers, birds, deer etc. I have learned to appreciate and respect all you see and have. It is not yours forever.

I do cherish the beautiful moments I share with my family. When I was a kid the smallest things were cherished by me.I had a collection of marbles and that was my greatest treasure.I used to enjoy playing in the sun, getting drenched in the first rains, play mischief with my loved ones, watch ants go by their business, swing on the branches of trees and so much more. How I wish I could go back in time and relive those cherished moments!

Ohhh yes I sure do!! I'm a very simple person where I don't dress to get attention and I don't have the finest furniture and so on because I like the simplist things. I have three beautiful rose bushes that were just planted and the bright pink one has bloomed and so has the white one but the yellow one has yet to but I excited with antisipation!! lol I have some other type of flower that is too heavy for the stems and ends up falling over but this year hubby put something around them to help hold them up and gosh darn! they smell so sweet!!

Hi there! Honestly, there are times that I fail to stop for a while and appreiciate the beautiful things around me. I fail to look at the bright sky and appreciate the beautiful day ahead of me, I sometimes fail to say hi to all those that I know and sometimes I even take nature for granted - because my head is so preoccupied with things that I need to do. I agree with you. We should take time and cherish all that there is today because they might change tomorrow.
