A signed copy of my novel made $200 (£100) at auction!

£100 at auction! - Michael J Eardley's novel Letter from Poitou

I'm so pleased and proud of this. I spent most of last week in the Devonshire seaside town of Torquay attending an annual conference which my company supports. There is always a gala dinner on the last night and they hold a charity auction. This year it was in aid of a local charity foundation for young adults with learning difficulties. My company had donated a framed print to the auction but I wanted to add a personal item so I put in a copy of my novel Letter from Poitou. http://www.letterfrompoitou.co.uk Both items, company and personal, raised £100 each after some fierce bidding. I was able to autograph the novel for the winning bidder and I guess that was my Andy Warhol moment (everybody WILL be famous for fifteen minutes!) The total raised at the auction and raffl was over £3000, great for such a good cause.

That is a really good achievement, you should be really proud of yourself!! Sounds like a good night all round though and some good money raised for charity. You got to sign your book too, who knows that autograph could be worth a fortune some day.

How wonderful. It looks like a very worthy cause and your contribution helped to raise a good amount of money. I'm sure the person who bid for and won your book will treasure it, especially as it is a signed copy. You should feel pleased and proud. It must have been a great moment when you were asked for your autograph!

Well done, you should feel very pleased with yourself and auctions can be so much fun even if you are not bidding, such a great way to earn money for charities.
