Mobile home behind mine burned down this morning

The man that lives there got out ok. What scares me is that I didn't even know anything about it until my son borrowed the bus drivers cell phone and called to see if I was ok. The bus comes back by our house on the way to the school and they all wondered which trailer burned.
I used to be such a light sleeper and anything would wake me. Now, since I'm taking that sleeping medicine the doc gave me, I sleep through anything I reckon. There are FOUR fire trucks right outside me house, and the fire was right behind us, and I heard nothing.
Guess I'll start sleeping on the couch in the living from so if anyone needs me I'll hear them knock. Maybe I will anyway. I'd have a better chance anyhow.
I'm just glad everyone is ok.

I will be. I do believe my husband was right when he said they probably didn't have the sirens on when they turned into the neighborhood. Because I always here the garbage truck when it comes though, and I'm sure sirens would be louder than that. I think I got scared for nothing..lol.

They are fine, we checked them not long ago.
I don't know what they take into account. I don't believe I would sleep through my own smoke detector because the noise is so shrill. At least I hope not. I can't quit the meds though, because I had got to where I was only sleeping maybe 4 hours every 3 days. A person can't function on that. I was in bad shape. So, I guess I just have to hope for the best and be extra careful.
