Is belly fat hardest to lose?

Sometimes I think that my hips and arms are my biggest problem areas for fat. I have some belly fat left over from pregnancy, but not too much. It's just sort of soft skin. If you've ever been pregnant, you know what I'm talking about.
Anyway, I think the hardest fat to lose for me, would be in the hip area. And, that's ironic considering that the largest muscles are in the hips and legs. And, muscle burns fat. So, you'd think the key would be to simply build those muscles in my legs and the fat would melt away.
When I was younger and before I got pregnant, that's what I did. I did tons of step aerobics and knee bends with weights. And, I think it really helped keep me in shape over my entire body and not just in my hip/leg area. Maybe I will try that again.
Which part of your body do you struggle with most when it comes to weight loss? Do you think it's harder to lose belly fat for a woman?

Belly fat is harder for me to lose now that I have a kid than it was before. Before it was usually my hips that were my biggest problem, now my belly isn't much smaller around than them! I had some health problems that caused me to gain a bunch of weight starting when Elliott was around a year and a half old or so. We didn't finally get everything all figured out until right after he turned 2. I've lost some weight since then, but not much of it has been in the belly area!

I know what you mean!
I'm right there with you on the baby belly issue.
Even though I have lost some weight since she
was born, it always comes back to the same spot.
I guess my body is trying to store up for another
potential baby.
That must be some kind of survival mechanism.
That's all I can figure, cause now it's way harder
to lose weight in that one spot.

Hi,
I think it is true that belly fat is probably the hardest to lose. Everything else seems to slide off of me but belly fat is always the last to go. To get rid of it I do lots of cardiovascular exercises and really reduce my eating. One thing that always worked was not eating anywhere near bedtime. After 6:00 p.m. I do not eat again until the next day.
cheers,

Yes, for me belly fat is one of the hardest to lose. What is worse is that you cannot spot lose. Meaning, you just can't lose it by simply doing crunches. You have to lose weight all over before your belly fat disappear.
As a woman, most of us store our fat in our bellies and our thighs. It's a pain to gain weight and it's more difficult to lose it.
I'm still struggling to lose mine, but I'm determined. Good luck with yours.
