adsense positioning

i thank God so much for helpful people on the net. i haven't had much revenue from adsense since i started. i only have 30$ after 2 years. then last week, i met a guy who mentioned that my ads could not be seen because they are located in the middle and bottom portions of of my blog. he said that i should make them more visible. i then put ads on top of the page. after 2 days of having my ads like that, i got 2 hits. i think that is already awesome considering my past experience. anyway, hopefully, with my increasing traffic, i will be able to generate more clicks from unique visitors. :-) how about you? what is your experience?
