How late does your kid sleep?

Most times my little kid gets up at a normal hour. But sometimes she likes to oversleep and that makes it tough to get her to go to sleep at night. But, she's also in a better mood when she gets more sleep, so sometimes it's tempting just to leave her asleep when I wake up in the morning. She's not in school yet, so I guess it would be OK to let her sleep a little bit later. How late does your kid sleep on the weekends or weekdays? Do you find that late sleepers are less cranky and more in a good mood?

Mine are always awake between 6 and 7am, I think it helped that they wake at that time always especially when the eldest started preschool and had to be there for 9am, I didnt need to change their routine or anything as they were in it anyway to get there in time. Personal preference compltely I think and for me I found it best having them in that routine anyway.

I feel it's better to let a child sleep and get enough sleep or else they get cranky. My older one had a routine...and he was always up by 8 in the morning before he started going to school at the age of 3. When he started school, he was in bed by 8-8.30pm and would be up at 6am till the age of 5 when he would wake up at 5 am and do a little yoga with one of our neighbours and then wake me up at about 6am. The last year has been tough on me...and the older one has a hard time getting up in the morning and it's more because he doesn't go to bed on time...my mother and my husband let him go to bed way past his bedtime when I was expecting my second one and they were responsible for him...and then after the baby was born, I couldn't get back to re-inforcing the rules. School starts this week and I'll have to start with the routine again. On weekdays, he has to be up by 7 at the latest....and on weekends I let him sleep a little longer if he wants to.

On the weekends, my kids sleep 12 hours without blinking an eye. They are easier to get along with when they do.

My son goes to bed late and sleeps late, too. It is what works best for our family, since my husband switches shifts so often. About the only way that we can guarantee that they get to spend time together and my husband still gets enough sleep, is if Elliott stays up until at least 10 pm. That causes him to sleep until at least 9 am, sometimes even later.

My two older children don't have to go to bed at a certian time.My six year old has to go to bed at nine during the week and ten on the weekends. During the weed she gets up at seven and on the weekends its eight. I have worked on a rutine for a long time just as I did with my older children. I don't know about everyone else but I find that if they get off the rutine it is hard to get them to bed or wake up.

My children are usually up around 7:20am. Sometimes they will sleep until abou 8-8:30am. Except for yesterday my oldest daughter slept until 10am! She was still tired by 7pm though!
