I just read weeman's discussion on Daily exercise xx. If you have not read it you need to search for it and read it, it is so good! That discussion gave me a thought. I decided to see who all would go for the challenge of trying to work up to 10,000 steps a day to become healthier. I used to be up way over 20,000 per day and slacked off. I am feeling it now too. Who will work with me and try to increase your daily steps for a healthier you? I have a pedometer and I guess I will start wearing it and try to improve my health and get more exercise. Thanks so much weeman for the great idea!

I do have a pedometer that I haven't worn in a good while, I know exactly where it is at and will try to remember to start wearing it, so that I can see how many steps that I am stepping. I don't think I've ever came close to 10,000 steps let alone 20,000 steps!

Well, I have to admit I have still forgotten to put my pedometer on but I am going to. I know I got lots of steps today and Tuesday! We have to make it a post every day I guess in order to make me do it. LOL Thanks for the post and God bless you!

I have the worse pedometer on earth. It only records one in four steps and you have to stomp on the ground very loudly. If you could translate that 10,000 steps a day into something like miles or feet, that I will understand. I do walk and run about a mile a day. However I usually go to the Mall, and I have not yet figured out how long it takes to go there and how long it takes what I am doing when I get there since I am exactly a mall walker, more like a walk fast, run for a minute, walk a little slower, speed up my walk, run for a minute, and do that unless someone is watching me.

My pedometer acted so crazy for a while and then I started clipping it to my sock top. It worked perfectly. LOL They say 10,000 steps is about 5 miles. Thanks for the post and God bless.

I've just started keeping track of my steps. I've only been going around 3-3.5 miles a day, though. I've been really busy trying to get caught up on some of the stuff that I missed while I was at my parents' house. That has taken up most of my time. Plus my husband is working 12 hour shifts, so I have more stuff to do at home to pick up the slack.
Next week, my goal is going to be at least 5 miles a day. I don't do a whole lot of walking when I'm just at home hanging out with my toddler. We go for walks every day, but that's really about it. Next week we are going to do two walks a day, though! We can't walk any further than we already do at one time, though, because I already have to carry my two year old part of the way. I think (2) 1.5-2 mile walks a day will really help me out in reaching my goal, though! Plus I'm going to just do more walking around while I'm at home, too.

Hi mama. I don't count my steps every day, but I'm sure that I walk thousands. Walking is about the only thing that keeps my back from constantly hurting so I walk everywhere all the time and get a lot of exercise in that way.
