Have you ever heard of the doggie screen door?

This morning, I was browsing through a catalog and saw the cutest little gift for a dog owner. It was a screen door opening for dogs! Can you imagine? I've heard of doggie doors that you put in a regular door, but I never thought about putting a doggie door in a screen. Makes sense. How else will a dog would get out of a screen door, if you don't open it.
Here in the south, we have lots of screen doors. The weather is mild enough to use them. Supposedly the doggie screen door installs in minutes. You just cut a square into the bottom of the screen door and use their little kit to install it. Presto!
I know I'd mess it up somehow. But, it's definitely a nice thought. I think it would be good for someone who has an indoor/outdoor cat as well. Have you heard of this item before? Does it sound like something you'd use?

Yes my neighbor told me about it cause my dog likes going over there and sleeping in their house-LOLOL
We live in the country and dont believe in tieing him up but at the same time I dont want him over there. Not sure what to do about it?

Thats adorable! I know what you mean about the leashed dog thing. In the country, that's a totally good idea. If we got a big dog, we'd have to keep her indoors or tied up because we have a road nearby. I couldn't bear the thought of having to tie my puppy up either. So sad! Thanks for dropping by.

Yes, I've seen the doggie screen doors, as well as the doggie doors. I would never, ever have one. Not only would I be taking a chance that a squirrel might get in, I'd consider a raccoon to be even worse fate. Once I left the door open long enough to carry my huge dog food bag in, it took all of half a minute tops. In that short time I had a mole get into the kitchen through the door. Half a minute to get in, and 3 days to finally get it out! So, I wouldn't have one of those things, it'd be an open invitation for any wildlife to come into my house, not to mention the neighbors cats. I suppose if your whole yard was fenced in, and if you lived in the city, that it would be safer, but out here in the country it'd just be inviting trouble for sure!
