My children really like meatballs made with beef mince. The only sauce I know to cook the meatballs with is oxtail soup. This is very nice but i now want to cook meatballs in a home made sauce. Do any of you lovely cooks out there have any nice mild recipes for home made sauces that I can cook my meatballs in please. Many thanks

Try this one--it sounds odd but is really delicious! Mix equal amounts of catsup and grape jelly together, and heat it in a sauce pan over low heat until it is melted together. Put the meatballs in the sauce and let them heat through. I bet your kids will love this!

This sounds yum. But I am in the Uk and am at a loss as to what catsup is. Is grape jelly just like normal jelly you have with ice cream? I have never seen grape jelly, just strawberry, orange, lime, etc. Would love you to carry on helping me out. Please

I do the same thing only with chili sauce instead of ketchup. In the UK you would probably call it jam or preserves.

It's a sauce made from tomatoes that goes on hamburgers or french fries. Sorry, I guess I thought catsup was someething everybody knew of! Also spelled ketchup, as above.
