As you read from my previous discussion that Matt my boyfriend will be leaving for Baltimore since his brother's father in law just passed away yesterday.
It looks like Matt will not be going before June because the father in law was an admiral in the navy and he will be getting a big military funeral service and his ashes will be buried in Arlington Cememtary.
The body will be frozen until that time and then cremated.
Is anyone familiar with this military procedure, is it normal to freeze the body then only cremated when the ashes will be put in the cementary?

I have never heard of this- but then again I don't know anyone who has passed that was that high up in the military. I would think that ALL soldiers could be buried in Arlington- maybe that is only if they die during service? and if they choose to be buried there. It is interesting to know that they cannot due it until June and have to freeze the body? I think that is a little odd--- If they are scattering the ashes- I would think they could do that at any time. I'm sorry to hear that someone you know passed away.

Please send my condolences to your boyfriend and his family.I have never heard about freezing the body but I guess it is a good way to preserve the body.
