Any tips to share with the new kid on the mylot block?

Hello, my name is Vic and I have only been posting on mylot a few days. I really like the site as I enjoy writing. I have been poking around trying to learn the ins and outs of mylot. Do you have any tips for the new kid on the block that you could share with me?

Welcome to mylot... i hope you enjoy every minute of your stay here... when i was new... i chanced upon a discussion that gave tips on the in's and out's of mylot... and it really helped me a lot... here are some of the few...
1. Invite a lot of friends if you want to get many responses to your discussions... it would certainly help if you invite the active ones... be sure to turn notify on...
2. Always be polite in your discussions and responses...
3. Always rate discussions and responses + or - if you genuine feel they deserve it...
4. Always follow the mylot do's and dont's... to avoid deletion of discussions...
There are still a lot of things to learn... and you will learn them as you become an old member of mylot... good luck...

Thank you! I appreciate the advice. I wasn't too sure about inviting friends because I wasn't sure how well you had to know someone to do that so thank you for telling me that.
