What is the proper MyLot etiquette??

I have been on here for about a month now, and I really enjoy reading and writing discussions. When I start a discussion, I continuously check back on that discussion to see what other mylotters have responded. When reading these responses I try to respond to each one to let the others know that I appreciate their response. I have noticed some on here that start discussions, then they get tons of responses but the person who started the discussion never responds again. So after rambling on I guess my question is this...... What is the proper etiquette when starting discussions? When you start a discussion, do you try to respond back the the replys or do you ignore them? What does everyone think?

While myLot admin won't penalize someone for ignoring responses in their own discussions, people who do ignore other's responses and really only go about starting discussions, are frowned upon by your fellow myLotians. We take the time to respond with thoughtful responses and, if we don't see a response back, it tells us that our opinions don't matter as much as what that person sees in their earnings. They tend to get ignored. At least, if I notice that is the case, I will be less likely to respond to that person. I like to know that my time is as valuable to the person who started the discussion as their own time. When I don't see that, I oblige by ignoring them.

I always try to respond to each person but sometimes it is hard to respond to each person. I have seen those that dont even respond to one person and it does make you wonder if they even read what you wrote. I dont let it get to me im having fun and thats all i care about.

It seems that you truly understand what I am saying.....There are times when I don't respond back either. Unless it warrants it. Like this time.

The number one etiquette is not to be rude to others. We are here to have fun and to be friendly. No complexes here please. The second one is not boring.People should desist from doing it.It sucks.

I don't respond to every answer I get. I read them all, though. That is, until I get bored of the discussion . I generally just respond to the ones I feel I can contribute to or I find especially interesting. I don't expect a response to everything I say on here, and I'm pretty sure it's in the TOS that you shouldn't respond with "thank you"s.

I usually don't respond to every single one, but I do think its rude that some don't even respond to a single comment. I don't just type in a thank you, I give genuine input to what their response is. Just like I am doing know, but THANK YOU.......lol......I think this is long enough that I can say that

Be respectful at all times. Keep an open-mind about things.. Show compassion for others, even when you do not know their situation..

I am not sure what you mean by this. I am respectful to others and I am asking why people post a discussion but then never follow up on it. I sometimes wonder if these are the people that only use mylot as a earning tool, instead of a fun outlet to chat and voice their opinions. Thanks
