Super tip to make shaving your legs even easier

One of the hardest things for a woman to do is to shave her legs. There are always nicks and scrapes and the inevitable razor burn. But, I found a super easy way to get silky legs, without all the hassle. Next time you go to shave your legs, ditch the bath soap and pick up the baby wash. It lathers up to make shaving a breeze. My favorite is Grins and giggles baby wash. When you use it to shave your legs, you'll get amazing results. Be sure to mix a little bit with water until it becomes foamy. And, then shave your legs as usual. The results last up to a week. That's what I've found anyway. Can you imagine not having to shave your legs for an entire week? It works that well. Be sure to wash your legs in cool water after shaving to close the pores and reduce risk of razor burn. That's my beauty tip. Would you like to share a free beauty tip for getting silky smoothe legs from shaving?

OK. First get into the tub. You can sit on the side of the tub if you wish with your feet in the tub. Then wet down your legs with warm water. Or, do this while you are taking a shower or bath and your legs are already wet. That is usually best. Next put shaving cream or the lotion that I mentioned on your legs to soften the leg hair. Allow the lotion or gel to dwell for a few minutes. Then take a fresh new razor and shave down your legs in a straight line, very gently, being careful not to cut or nick yourself. Take short strokes, maybe two or three inches. Rinse your razor and take another stroke to cut the hair. You could shave upwards, but that can cause scrapes. Be careful around knees and shin bone as these areas get cut easily. Just take a few short strokes. Don't do long strokes. Rinse your razor after each stroke, to remove hair. You can even use two razors, one for each leg, if you prefer. After you are finished, rinse your legs off with cool water. They will feel very soft and silky. I rarely shave above the knees, cause I don't need to and get more irritation when I do. Each woman has her own way of doing this. I've done this for years, and this is my way. I am sure another woman would say there is a better way. LOL! I hope those tips will help you out. If you prefer you can use Neet or Nair or other hair removal on your legs. I used those when I was a younger woman and they worked great! When I was younger and started shaving my legs, noone told me how to do it and I cut my shin badly. I was OK, though I scarred. Just go slow and keep your legs wet the whole time. Be well. Best of luck.

I've been shaving for more than twenty years, so I shave upwards too. But for a first timer, I would definitely say shave downwards. It's the safest way. I shaved upwards for my first time and nicked my shin really bad! I still have the scar!

I like my electric shaver, never gotten any nicks or cuts with it. It does take a lot longer to shave using it but the results can last me a week.

Great tips thank you, not being a mother myself I am not sure what baby wash is, is it the same as baby oil or is it a special soap.

No, it's not quite the same thing(although I will admit pretty close). I assume this is what she is talking about: http://www.johnsonsbaby.com/product.do?id=1 (Please correct me if I am wrong) I have also tried Johnson's baby shampoo and other children-specific shampoo with good results. The baby wash is still the best though, I'd forgotten all about that being a great tip, so I'm glad someone brought it up. If you have a Big Lots near you, they always have it there, otherwise try your grocery store or Wal-Mart in the Baby section.

That's a good one and one that I have used for years. Also baby oil is good to rub your entire body down with in the shower and then lightly rinse off...also good for shaving legs. Baby products are the best for all sorts of things. After all if you'd use them on skin as tender as a baby's can you imagine anything more effective. When my mom was on oxygen, her skin was very dry. We were told that it was a hazard to use any lotion that had a petrolium base. I searched high and lo for one that did not contain petrolium...finally I consulted the pharmacist....baby lotion...so simple yet so difficult.

You've just made my week! I'm going to have to look out for that baby wash and pick some up. That's a great tip! I didn't know about the cool water either, thanks. I get the razor burn all the time so I'll do the cool water rinse from now on too. Not having to shave for a week? Wow.. awesome!

Hey.shaving the legs can be suck a pain in the butt ,but a must for me in the summertime months.Anything ,that last longer is worth a try in my book.I have waxed before ,and yes it lasted 6 weeks, but i never did it again .it hurts way too much and takes for me an hr or 2 .I know what you are taking about with the hair remover and i think it is called nair and the results last a week .Which is better than shaving daily,or for me every other day .

That sounds great. I will have to look for this baby lotion. I end up shaving my legs at least 3 or 4 times a week.

Hi beautyqueen, Nice tip, actually I was not very surprised to read this but somewhat surprised. Shampoo or conditioner (for your hair) works really well too! It is way better than the shaving foam. I learned this tip from someone who bought a new shampoo to try and didn't like it so she used it on her legs to shave so it wouldn't go to waste and I guess she made an amazing discovery that it is better than shaving foam! I use this method as well and have to agree, it gives your leg a more clean shave and also leaves it feeling more silky.

I would love not having to shave my legs daily and even better for a week .I always seem to cut myself up when I save and the only way I wont is if I use a really thick venus razor and even then I will have stubble. That tip sounds great and I will try it sometime .I love the silky feeling and it just doesnt last as long as i would like .Great to try out for the summer.
