How many bathrooms do you have in your home?...

I asked because... when i was young... i lived in a house with 9 people... my parents, my siblings, my two uncles, and one household help... and from time to time... my maternal grandparents would live with us... with all these people under one roof... we only have one bathroom to use... At first... i didn't mind but when we kids started growing up... we needed more time inside the bathroom... and the wait for my turn was so unbearable... just imagine badly wanting to pee... but someone is inside... it was a total nightmare... I now live in a small apartment with only one bathroom... but it is quite okay... because there is only me and my two year old daughter... my husband is already abroad... and i am like in bathroom heaven... with this situation...

In our summer home we have just one but in our winter home we have two. Yet another reason I can hardly wait to get back, although it not too bad sharing a bathroom with hubby because he cleans it and is quite considerate as well.

Ffffft, R U kidding. He is an Alpha Male. When I ask him to close the toilet he puts the seat down, yes, most of the time, but he never ever puts the lid down. I ALWAYS put the lid down. So I go around after him and do it myself.

9 people, wow! Growing up there were 5 of us and 1 bathroom. That was bad enough. Right now, we have 1 but its only me, my husband and the baby, who is not potty trained yet.

1 person and 1 bathroom, must be nice. But there are more important things in life then the number of bathrooms you have. If you have to share with loved ones, that means that you have loved ones to share with.

There is only one at my house also. I live with my mother but we do fine sharing one bathroom. That had to of been very hard sharing one bathroom with 9 other people. I understand needing more time espically with fixing your hair and putting on makeup.

Well, with three teenagers and two single men... i can say that the bathroom was the most overused room in the house... and that drove my mother crazy... so when she had the house renovated... she added one more bathroom... which i was not able to fully enjoy... since i don't live there anymore... thanks for the response...

We had one bathroom in our old house only. It was really inconvenient as there were seven of us living under the same roof. Sometimes we had to queue up before going in the bathroom. After my husband’s younger sister, her husband and their two kids had shifted to another state for his new post there. Later on we had our old house to rebuild. Now we have two bathrooms in our house. One is in the master room with stool and the other is beside the kitchen. Now it is very convenient for three of us to use the two bathrooms.

That is what my mother did when she had our old house renovated... she added another bathroom in the master's bedroom... which we can use if the other one is not available... but i don't live there anymore... and only goes there during the weekend to visit... but i still enjoy the comfort of never having to wait for my turn... thanks for the response...

Morning can be very funny especially when everyone in the house is trying not to be late for school or work... you are very lucky to have three bathrooms in the house... so no one needs to wake up very early just to be the first one to use it... thanks for the response...

I live in an apartment with three attached bathrooms for the 3 bedrooms. So, we don't have a problem. But when I was growing up in Kuwait, we lived in apartments with only one bathroom in each flat and we had to share bathrooms. But there were only 4 of us...but it would get a little tight in the mornings...when our father had to leave for work and my sister and I had to go for school at the same time. But our house in India had more bathrooms than the number of people (4)....but it didn't make a difference because we were usually here on vacation and didn't need to rush anywhere.

I am toilet training our 17 month old right now and so one bathroom is for him.....I don't like to keep taking off the potty seat everytime someone wants to use it. And one bathroom is bigger than the other two to accomodate the washing machine too...and I find that all of us prefer that bathroom for our shower. Mornings are quite a rush...and it's going to be even more hectic next week when my 2 kids and I will have to leave home by 8.30 am....my husband will use the bathroom only after that.

bathroom - we have two bathrooms in our apartment, but we used to have only one in our old house, which is very inconvenient.
Hello dear aseretdd. I can understand you when you say there used to be only bathroom in the old house with nine people because it was the same with us when we used to live in the old house, but now my three-people-family live in a new apartment with two bathrooms, one of which is a small one within our bedroom. It is a private one and another one is next to the kitchen, a public one in our apartment. Thank you for your discussion.

We have one very small bathroom and it drives all of us nuts in the morning because everyone is trying to get ready at the same time. I am always the one that ends up being late because I can't get the two men of the house out of the bathroom in time.

And i thought ladies tend to use the bathroom a lot longer than men... when i was younger... i usually try to wake up earlier than the rest of the family so that i will be the first to use the bathroom... but they tend to knock and knock when they are all up... thanks for the response...

We have to bathrooms in our house. One for myself and my fiance and one for his parents. It does not bother me as my fiance and I will often be in the bathroom together. If he needs to use the bathroom and I am taking a bath, as long as his parents are not around, he will come to our bathroom to pee. If I need to brush my teeth and he is in the bathroom, I will go ahead in there. We prefer using our own bathroom so if both of us need to use the toilet at the same time we go in together and wait or we wait in our room or wherever we are until we are done.

Who works first gotta wake up earlier than the others. I have no problem, with them, they just take a bath or do something else fro a short period of time. Unlike me, my minimum time is 30 minutes in taking a bath.

I have tried that too aseretdd when I was living in a boarding house and we only have 2 bathrooms! One for male and one for female and we were 10 female that time, imagine how hard it was, we tend to dance or do anything just to hold ourselves when someone is inside!LOL!

LOL! I was lucky then that all my board mates were good and friendly!LOL! except the boys, we always have argument with them!Since their apartment is very close to ours and they are so noisy! Another thing also, the owner live close to us so when we really can't hold it, we always ask her to use her bath room!LOL!

Good thing your landlady was considerate enough to let you use her bathroom when it is really needed... and i understand about the male college students... we had such neighbors and they were kicked out of the apartment because of the noise they made almost everyday...

I have 2 bathrooms in my current home and a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 children), so it's not too bad...yet. But when I was a teenager living with my mom and older sister we only had the one bathroom. Even though it was just the 3 of us there were some days when it was hard when I'd really have to go to the bathroom and have to painfully wait until one or the other was finished. It's certainly not good on the bladder to have to wait like that.

I remember those days well... when i really had to go... but someone is using the bathroom... not good for the bladder... and also not good for one's emotional well being... there where times when i had to do it backyard... since i can not hold it any longer... so embarassing... even if no one saw me... thanks for the response...
