Our cousin, Amanda, has a Basset hound. Amanda named her hound Missy. She loves Missy very much. Everday (Amanda is our neighbor, too.) Amanda will go out of her way just to be with her best friend. Right now I'm sitting infront of the compuer and on the window to my right, I can see Amanda walking Missy out side, while the others are inside enjoying a movie.

Bassett Hounds are cool. They are one of the breeds of dog - that I know of - that will gladly let themselves out for a walk and return when they feel like it.
But they can be stubborn too. Ours once decided it would be a good idea to sit in the middle of the road. Luckily it was a small village and everybody knew that Hound was ours. So it wasn't a big surprise to have the grocer ring the doorbell and see him with a dog clenched under his arm.
More alarmingly though when in the middle of night somebody rings the doorbell and we open the window upstairs to see who it is and somebody with a Basset Hound clenched to his chest claims to be returning our dog. Saying he'd found him wandering about. We said it wasn't our dog. He thought we were mad and said "yes it is!" We yelled back "no it aint!" After a few more attempts we simply pick up our dog and pull a "Michael Jackson" to show him it really wasn't....Turns out somebody who staying on a campsite nearby also had a Hound and - well duh - that one had the same tendancy as ours....to take himself for a stroll when he felt like it!
