Have you ever left your car windows open on the day it rained?

Our other car had a bum window that wouldn't roll up. So, everytime it rained, the entire front seat got wet. It was not a pleasant place to be. So we replaced the big car with a more fuel efficient car. And, this one has working windows, so the seats never get wet anymore. Do you ever accidentally leave the windows open in your car so that the seats get wet? Have you ever had anything important get ruined by rain water getting into your car?

My father years ago when my parents where still together and I was younger had a car that the window didn't go up all the way so it would be wet in the car in the back seat whenever we went anywhere. Of course there has been a few times when I was driving I would forget to roll-up my window in the car.

When we had our other car, the station wagon, we used it to move our stuff. And my spouse forgot to roll up the back window. It made everything mildew and really stinky. Especially the books!

Yes it was happened for me once.. actually, the previous day when i park the car, i just open my glass, to view the right hand side way. After parking the vehicle, i just comeout and take the luggage from the dicky, (since the space between the car and the right hand side wall i use to get down from the left hand side door) i just lock the car by using the centerlocking system, and back to home.. Occationaly on that night there is a raining.. when i found the car, in the morning when i starting to office, i really surprised that my window glass got opened, i was really stunned, i just shout the people nearby.. Unfortunately its not a heavy raining, so my seat will not get affected more, only my door will become wet. (since my car very close to the wall, my seat will not get affected much.. by god's grace) And also some dust formed in side the car, once those dust will get cleaned and the door has been cleaned (dried) i just started to office.

Hello dear beauty queen. I don't have to worry about the window of the car as I do not have a car of my own yet. I am glad that I am free of worry about it and I don't have to worry about the rise of price of oil for cars. hehe.

You are so lucky, my friend! Not owning a car is a very responsible way of caring for the environment. Too many car owners already are polluting the environment. Since then, we have gotten a much smaller car that uses much less gas so that we don't pollute the environment. And it saves us money. We were lucky.

That is something that I have not done myself but my cousin had a car like that but she always tried to cover the window if we were at home an it rained. But I'm glad that had not happened to me before. When you think about it you don't even leave your windows down unless your at home. When your out shopping you always make sure that they are up. Well at least you don't have that car anymore and you don't have to worry about the window being down. That is one thing that I know your glad about.

Certainly! Our window later broke in the front and so there was no way to keep rain out of the car. Our small car has good windows now, so we are very fortunate to not have rains flood the car. I wish we had a car port so that we could shelter our car in the storms. We get lots of rain here. Thanks for your kind post.

Oh my I am bad to forget my windows and the seat get wet!! One time I was at work when a big storm rolled through after lunch. I had left both of my windows down all the way . We got like 2 inches of rain in the first hour hour! I asked my supervisor if I could go out and close my windows but he wouldn't let any of us go. "Well, it's too late now, it's already wet" he said!!! After work it was still raining, but not quite so hard. When I got to my car I had 2 or 3 inches of water in my floor!! When I opened the door, water came gushing out! I was SO mad at my super, I was about to explode!! But he didn't come out of it all dry though. After seeing the water pour out my door, I went over and opened all 4 of his windows!! I don't remember if anything got ruined, but I know I had to let it dry for DAYS. I had to put a blanket over the seat for about a week before I could go anywhere without a wet bottom. The inside of the windows stayed steamed up and it smelled awful for awhile after.

I never leave my car windows open at all when i'm not in it. I'm to afraid of having my car stolen to do that!

I forgot my car window was down one night I had a 1996 Grand Am it didn't have electric windows they were the old roll down style but anyways it rained in and it ended up warping the paneling on the drivers side door. The seat dried out and it was fine but that paneling just looked horrible.

We have left both windows down and the seat got so wet we had to put a thick towel in the seats and thats after letting it dry out most of the day. Thank goodness nothing was ruined
