Does anyone here suffer from constant pain or know someone who does? I have fibromyalgia and lupus. They both cause pain. I'm taking Lyrica and Ultram ER, but even with them I still have days when I can barely move. It can really get depressing. Any suggestions?

Yes,I have been in chronic pain for over 20 years. I have degeratic dic desease. I have had several ruptured disks in my neck and lower back. I have had neck surgury and 4 back surgurys. I have been disabled for 22 years because of this. I am in pain 24/7. I take neurontin, because it is cheaper than the lyrica. I also take hydro's for pain no relief.I have a T.E.N.S unit, massagers, heat lamp. I can not walk very far, can't sit long, as I have so much nerve root damage to my siatic nerves. The one thing thaat helps me the most is water. A hot tub, and swimminmg pool. Water therapy is the only thing that I have found that even relieves the pain at all.So in the summer, I stay in the pool a lot.Good luck to you. I can relate to the pain.I stay depressed, because I am home so much.At times I do not even want to go out to my mail box.

I'm so sorry to hear about your pain. I've only been suffering for about 6 years now. I'm not much good in a pool, but I do enjoy soaking in a hot tub. Bubbles are relaxing as well. Have you ever tried Epsom salts? I haven't, but have thought about giving it a try.
I have found that being on myLot helps take my mind off it, so I'm so glad I found it!
Good luck to you, too!

Thank you for your response. Yes, I've had physical therapy. It always ended up with me in more pain than before, plus a day afterwards where I couldn't do anything. I move around as much as I can, gardening, household chores, things like that. I walk daily. This seems to help, but I'm still in pain. Maybe there is no getting around it; I'm going to have pain. It's just the level of pain that I can control to a point. I'm not a swimmer. I've tried it and it never worked for me. Maybe I have a fear of water, but it's not a conscious fear. I move as much as I can, but then I need to rest. It's a vicious cycle that I'd love to break.
