How long does it take to grow out finger nails?

Last year when I was posting on MyLot everyday, my fingernails started growing out. For awhile I had the most gorgeous full length nails. But, then of course, I slacked off posting and started cleaning my house more. Then my nails started chipping and cracking and breaking off. They got very weak. Of course, I blame cleaning detergents for taking away my beautiful nails.
Now I can't seem to get them to grow at all. I'm trying not to bite my nails. I'm eating well. And, I am trying to avoid stress. I am hoping that will help them grow faster. Do you have any tips or tricks for someone trying to grow long beautiful nails? Are there any types of products, oils or special nail conditioners that really work? Please share your beauty tips for nails. Thanks!

I have no idea what makes nails grow faster to tell you the truth. I don't really bite my nails so I do have long nails for a while. Right now I have the most beautiful nails but they are not the same lenght because like you I start doing some chores around the house and then one of them breaks. I am going to let them grow out a bit more and then cut them to get them the same lenght. I like having my own long nails. I don't know why but I like to type with my nails like that. And plus my hands like really nice with my clean long nails.
