I chanced upon this article which say that Trees Lessen Asthma Rate... and good research was done to prove this... so trees not only help avert global warming... Trees may help curb asthma rates by encouraging children to play outdoors more or by improving air quality... i grew up with a tree in the backyard... and thankfully no one in my family has a history of Asthma or any lung problem... even if we live all our lives in the city... I hope this type of information will encourage us to appreciate the ever growing importance of trees in our lives and the environment... Here is the link in case you want to read the article... http://www.canada.com/montrealgazette/story.html?id=df220880-01e0-4ffb-8b56-403dfa1220b3

Asthma runs in my family. If this is a true way to lessen attacks, I will support. I will visit the site you linked and share this to my relatives. I know I need to be as active as possible if this research will help, for the next generation in my family will still suffer because it is in our history. Thank you so much for this very informative post. Trees surely isn't just for the global warming but for the asthmatic people too. Take care =)

I agree with you... even if there is limited space... we should always make room for one or two trees... since the advantages of having one is quite enormous... thanks for the response... but sorry for the late comment...

Even though we can grow trees and our government actually does that planting trees along the road dividers. However not all trees are good to plant especially when it comes to human ground. I don't know why that our government planting trees which are naturally weak which can easily fall off when strong winds come. A lot of cases of accidents happen because of that. And in fact one strange incident before near this apartment i live in a sedan car felt inside the root hole of the tree because the tree was being uprooted by the strong wind creating a large hole where the car was parking.

We can never blame the trees when an accident like this happens... when trees are planted especially along the highway... certain maintenance should be made... because as trees grow... their branches and even roots need to pruned to avoid accident... thanks for the response...

this is because tress will absorb all the carbon dioxide that blown by companies, vehicles and many others, the trees give as oxygen that is helpful to our health. we need oxygen than other elements and one giver of it are the trees. next we are having our tree planting, all mountaineers here in the Philippines for eco-tourist summit held here. i am one of the participants as a responsible mountaineers. help save our mother earth, let's help plant trees for the next generation.

I agree with you... trees are the best gift we can give the next generation because of all the benefits a single tree can give... so it is actually our duty to plant trees or preserve those that are already here... thanks for the response...

I didn't know this. But I agree, it should give people one more reason to begin to plant more and more trees. For air quality, for more air period and because they may actually keep people healthy. I doubt many people would actually listen to the article, or they just don't care and won't plant any more trees. Some people just don't see the reason why they should plant trees. They don't see it as something they should have to do.

I agree with you... trees are like the unsung heroes of the planet... and they are often disregarded and not noticed for their true value... a lot of people are too preoccupied with their own stuff that they tend to forget that we are all affected with the changes happening in our environment... thanks for the response...

Wow. That's good news though. Many falsely believe they make them worse. I wish people would listen to studies like this and plant more trees.

This is indeed good news... i always wonder why some people say that trees are to no concern in the current global warming problem... i think it is in the kind of trees that a certain area needs... a hope more research will be made to strengthen the importance of trees in our lives and the environment... thanks for the response...

I am hugely in favor of children being able to play outdoors, away from traffic and where they can breath clean air and do all the other healthy stuff that kids deserve to do. Another great thing about trees and outdoor activities is that they are, I hope, far away from junk food and machines that dispense candy.

I was that kind of kid... i was always outdoors playing in the yard... or outside the house... back then... it was still safe for kids to do that even without the parents... but nowadays... we all have to keep a close eye on our kids everytime we go out... thanks for the response...

Hello aseretdd, Thanks for the information. Even though I don't like planting any kind of plants, I do believe that those plants bring benefits to our lives. Lucky that I don't have asthma too, nor do my family members.

We are lucky not to have any history of asthma in our families... i know of some who became financially and emotionally drained because of this medical condition... my brother-in-law had asthma when he was young... so my sister had to really take care of my niece and nephew... so that they will outgrow this condition... thanks for the response...
