The only time Moomin has ever bitten me, it was an accident as he was trying to get the piece of ham I was holding. When animals bite they are usually frightened or angry, so I back off and let them calm down.

The best thing to do is let the dog know in no uncertain terms that biting you is unacceptable. They must be punished right away. A stern talking to is usaully enough to scare most pets, a pet biting is not acceptable.

I would definitely punished them or teach them a lesson (please don't think that I'm cruel to animal). Animal particularly our domestic pets have a mind and I believe that they understand us. So maybe a few spank will make them know that what they did is bad. But if they will not behave and continue to bite or show bad behavior, I will immediately disposed them. I have 2 children in the house and I will not gamble or risk the safety of my 2 beloved kids. Just what they always say, family concern comes first.

I have had cats and when i play with them they would bite and scratch me. but most of them would not let out their claws and be careful so as to not to hurt me. Even when they bite it is only lightly and they would take care that i am not hurt. If they bite really hard i would give a smack on their ears which would immediately stop them from doing that

If a usual sweet pet dog bites then it must feel threatened in some way. They do not bite for no reason. Luckily my dog has not bitten anyone in the three years that i've had him. He must have the patience of a saint, because I have a three year old niece and a two year old nephew and they often will not leave him alone. I would have bitten them! My nephew did once poke him in the eye and Max mouthed in his general direction but that's as far as it's ever gone. I told Reuben that he made Max's eye sore and he never did it again. He even tried to get my mom to put nappy rash cream on his face lol.

so far in my own experience, my cat bites me just for joking and she never bites me hard. when she did a little, i just said to her, "its hurt, sheilla" and suddenly she will let my hands again and licking the place where she bites me. because of this experience, i have no reason to punish or dislike her

My cat loves to play, and sometimes when we are playing he'll bite a little too hard. When he does that I just take his mouh lightly in my hand, and tell him NO! Sometimes he'll bite me to get my attention when I am on the phone or doing something else, and I'll be louder then, when I tell him to stop, and then I'll pick him up and put him on the floor away from me, to let him kow I did not appreciate what he just did.

They need to be shown it is wrong. A dog should never bite. I would wrap it over the nose with a rolled up newspaper and send it out, literally in the dog house. If it continued to bite it could end up savaging someone and scaring them badly so I would be very cautios and get expert advice from a dog trainer or vet as to what the next step would be. Ellie :D

Hi, Why should the pets bite? That too dogs I don't know much about cats. Dogs I have had for a long time and I know very well that they do not bite without reason. The person who was bit must have teased the dog, or must have hurt the dog unintentionally. The dog will not understand that right? It was hurt and so it bit out. Or there should be something wrong with the health of the dog. Healthy and happy dogs never bite. Eversince I was small I have known dogs. Till now our dogs have not bitten any body. I am not able to understand is that why the pet dogs should bite? Maybe they also have their moods. I don't know.

i bite them back..hehehe..but seriously, i do bite them back---usually on the head or the neck. we used to have three dogs (2 mature ones and a puppy). we opt to give one dog to our cousin, so we're left with two. when we lie on the floor, they usually lick our faces and weirdly, our ears. before they ticks, and when we try to take them out, our dogs bite us---alot. but they don't bite that hard so it's ok :D

My kitten bites me but it's just play biting. He doesn't really mean to hurt me. i try to discourage it because the first time I allowed him to do it he scratched my hand up pretty badly. Obviously if I had children and my dog had a habit of biting them playfully I would do something about it because even though the dog might be playing, he could accidentally hurt someone. If the dog bit a person or child hard and on purpose I would have to get rid of the dog or else things could get worse.

Hi nassefu, Im a lovers pet. but I love most of dogs because cats PooPoo is awful for me. Ive been bitten by my dogs named "PORKY" a half breed dog. But it was only an accident because I have 3 dogs the other 2 were labrador retriever, Dogs are very self-centered,we know that and they seek so much attention especially when a newbie dogs comes, thats what happen why I was bitten.Unfortunately, my right hand bleeds and I immediately wash it with soap in running water for 15 minutes, the next morning I went to hospital for tetanus toxoid and anti-rabies. It was a messed because I paid for it 3 times. Because the treatment was every other day for the booster of anti-rabies. I never punished the dog, but I went to phobia touching him. The dog is with me for almost 3 years. The doctor told me to observe the dog for 1 week and if the attitude of the dog changes it mean he had a rabies, well luckily, he's still alive... =)

Well I start biting them right back. Lol....heavens no.....but seriously, you must reprimand/punishment them so that they desist from biting you. Noting seriously heavy duty....just a light reprimand or light punishment. They can bite their loved one for almost any reason I guess. Hot summer months I think drives them nuts. Alot of noise will cause them to be jittery. Also, sometimes being in a strange place with alot of strangers will make them jittery also, causing them to behave in a strange manner. Just try to calm them down. Avoid the mouth. Gently hold them and brush the side of the body. They'll be ok after awhile.
