Kolkatta Knightriders began their IPL campaign on high note scoring over 200 hundred runs and thrashing opposition thanks to McCullum. But, later on they really struggled from match number 4 they played in the tournament. they are literally out of the tournament now. What went wrong with them. I suppose after Aussies left, the opening pair struggled which is the main drawback. what do you think!

My friends who understand the game told me that they were not at all surprised seeing KKR to drop down at the bottom in the list. The team does not have good back bench and is heavily dependent on one or two players. Therefore, when they fail to shine, the team chokes. Anyway, the main charm of the team is no cricketer, I suppose but attachment of Superstar like King Khan, who raised the hype. However, the slogan did not work primarily for cricketing reasons.

The main problem for night riders is that the team is mainly depending on Ganguly to score. If he fails, the wining a match is difficult for them. They have to include some good players in the team to win all matches.

The aussies and macullumwere big boost for kolkatta if u see carefully out of 222 if u subtract macullums run then hardly 70 odd runs are left. After that match their batting never went beyond 170 barrin one occasion. Agreed that macullum went but they had good domestic players to fill the void why no the agressive Laxmi shukla and W. Saha tried up the order. Why was Saurabhrisi wasnt tried at all in the tourney.

The main reason for there failure is the absence of their main players in the later stage of tournament. Kolkata main fire power players were McCullum and Brad Hodge and they have to leave because of their national commintments. After there departure i dont think kolkata had managed to arrange his batting line up.

Yes, they are actually banking on few players and not succeeding as a team

Not all the players in KKR are playing well. We can not depend only on Ganguli to win a match. Inclusion of some other good players in the team will help to win the matches in the next season SRK should try for that.

McCullum is the real hero for that team. after he arrives to his country, the team is struggling a lot.

Ya they wer hit badly due to the aussies chuking out of the tourney mid way. their batting order was always a worry as it is now. Though the side plays the game with lot of zeal which is evident from the way they field but you need to have impact players in your side like they had macullum and now there is a injury prone shoib akhtar who is not playing due to fitness. Also ganguly is not using his creativity what with opening with aakash chopra when you have a spirited butt and laxmi shukla.

Kolkata Knight Riders is an overy hyped team thanks to the buzz created by the Shahrukh Khan. The Kolkata Knight Rdiers is very dependent on their star players and star players aren't performing that leads to failure of Kolkata knight riders. All Kolkata Knight Riders need is to churn out the raw talent from their so as they don't have to rely on one or two players.

The performance of a team depends on many things. A lot of factors makes a team invincible. Even if one has the best players , if they don't perform with consistency they cannot win regularly. Kolkata has good players no doubt but where is the performance. Where is consistency. Take example of jaipur, they were discarded before the start of tournament . And when they lost their first match everyone thought that they were finished. But now they are front runners. Kolkata started well but only one performed . Where were others. The dismal performance of other batmans continued. They performed in patches. There was lack of collective performance and that is responsible for ouster of kolkata knight riders.
