Great the lawn mower is broke and my hubby tried fixing it and nothing. So he took it to the shop and we should get it back in about a week. And our grass is so high. You cant see my cats when they go out there.LOL They think they are in the jungles.LOL If I was feeling better I would go out there and use the weed wacker on some of it. So does your lawn mower break once in a while?

See Terry we only have a very small area of grass - we have a garden shed , a play shed for the kids , a vegetable patch , a chipped area, paved areas and only one little bit of grass so I would send the kids out with a pair of scissors if our lawn mower broke - well either that or my other half would borrow our neighbours! lol I bet the cats are loving the long grass though! xxx

Oh yes, but around here, we let it go too long, the neighbors complain.. So we have to be on our toes when it comes to making sure the mower keeps working..

One thing I'm finding out is the electric versions of any lawn care machine far outweighs the gas-powered ones. I even told hubby I want a generator for my b-day so I could use my electric chainsaw out in the woods. Tired of the gas ones not wanting to start for me when the electric one starts every time at the push of a button.

Yes terry it does, LMAO but, my husband and boys are grease monkeys, so they manage to keep one running at least enough to cut the grass. Hey Don't you even try to get out there! Your cats will love it for a bit, make them think they are playing with the big cats!

The first few years after buying this property, we didn't even have a mower so had to pay someone to mow our yard till we could afford one. Then someone gave us a rider only it broke down more than it was running so finally scrapped it. Now we have a new rider and no more breakdowns. Try cutting over an acre with a push mower...

Mine has been broken for the best part of this year and my partner is hopeless and keeps forgetting to take it and fix it,my lawns probably look like yours and with the rain and wind we are getting lately it seriously does look like a jungle I have attempted to use the whipper snipper ( probably similar to a weed whacker?) a few times on it but I made such a mess...fingers crossed he gets fed up with the jungle soon!!

Hearing that makes me laugh, this happened a few weeks back, my dad bless him not the most active of husbands, preferring to watch 18 hours of tv a day, and we have a big big garden, front and back and he leaves it and leaves it and the grass gets so long that the cat is difficult to spot when she goes out LOL! Anyhow he finally makes the effort to go out and cut the grass and guess what the grass is so long that the motor packs up, it just can't cope! So he has to go out and buy a new one, false economy or the price of laziness? Now it's been cut, finally, I wonder how long it will take him to do it again.

I am sorry your mower broke. We always had problems with our mowers so we finally junked them and hired a lawn service. It's so much easier and they get it done in record time. I use to spend most of the day outside mowing since we are on a third of an acre and it would wear me out. My husband is too busy to get it done. It can be costly to have a service do it but since the cost of gas so is high, it's worth it.

Hiya Terry, How are you feeling today? :) We don't own a lawn mower lol our apartment grounds are contracted out to some company who comes in once in a while to do them. I like it when they add new flowers to the area too.
