A Canadian Journalist recently spoke about his new book, "War on Women," which discusses the plight of abused women in North America. Brian Vallee said," War on Women casualties speak for themselves! From 2000 through 2006, 4588 U.S. soldiers and police officers were killed by hostiles or by accident. In the same time period more than 8000 women across the country were shot, stabbed, beaten, or strangled to death by their intimate male partners." Canadian statistics indicate less than 30% of abuse incidents are reported. Across North America public ceremonies honour war and law enforcement casualties, but "war on women" victims are largely overlooked. Mr Vallee said,"There is a dire need for a real shake up in North America's Legislative Law-enforcement and Judicial Approaches to criminal Violence if there is any Hope at all of ending the War on Women!"Feel free to add your thoughts and, or experiences to this Posting!
