The Two hour Season Finale.

I was wondering what you all thought of the season finale. I felt very sad about Jennie dying and going in a dangerous situation and getting herself killed because she did not want to die in pain. I felt even sadder when the new director got rid of Tony and Ziva being kicked off the team, Ziva going back to Israel, and Tony getting assigned elsewhere. I do wonder why the director did it. Was it because he brooks no opposition, that his word is law and anyone who goes against him gets reassigned? Was Tony being reassigned a punishment for Gibbs ordering him to follow the future director? It seemed that way to me. I also wondered whether the producers of NCIS decided to base the leader on race or gender rather than ability? After all, they had a female director and now they have a black director. So why do the choice of the highest rank have to be based on race or gender and why do they not base them on experience? Would it not be better to have the director be maybe Mexican American, instead of well "the African American community is getting mad at NCIS for not having a black director and are pressuring us. We have to make the director Black or else they will boycott the advertisers!" It gives people the wrong impression.

I don't like the new director at all, and I think he is hiding something. I am hoping things get straightened out in the new season and the team gets back together. They work well together and if one had to leave we could get used to a new member...but ALL of them??!! Why bother watching if they change nearly the whole cast?

I do not like the new director. I think the only reason they put him in was that the NCAP pressured them to make sure the new director in the show has to be African American. So they were caving in to political pressure. I think he has something to hide. I have seen a show go down hill when they bowed to political correctness. If you remember Prey on ABC IN 1997 and 1998, they made the black Dominants the good people and do you remember those shows that had a black guy who was also in a wheelchair and a computer genius or other minorities? They did not last that long. Unless this is a temporary thing where they investigate the new director and find out that he is up to no good, I see a diminishing view of NCIS and it soon getting canceled.

Well I know why the new director reassigned everybody. When he asked Ziva and Tony whose side are they on, despite mixed answers to the previous questions, they still answered "Gibbs" in unison. Becauyse that's where their loyalties are. The new director knows that and knows that Gibbs is currently the only threat to his authority. So from this point of view I understand why this was done. I still hate what he did. I can't imagine the team without Gibbs. Yes, they managed that in the past, but then they had each other to support. Now? Each of them is alone and I really don't know how they will cope. On the other hand I'm looking forward to finding out what will happen this season

I thought he had an ulterior motive in that he wanted to be the boss and there is something he is hiding. After all, the director does not go along with the team, he or she assigns them and Gibbs does not call back and say, "may I go and investigate this," the director tells Gibbs that there was a murder of a Marine, and Gibbs goes and tells his crew to search this house, question this subject, etc. so therefore Tony and Zeva's loyalty should be to Gibbs, not the director so therefore their answers were right. Now if the director gives them separate assignments, he is in fact, cutting off their line of communication so if he has something bad to hide, he might keep them from getting together from finding out.

You really think that Gibbs would follow orders quietly when he doesn't agreee with them? Because he doesn't have the best track record when it comes to following orders from people he doesn't respect like he did Morrow.

Well I guess when you join the NCIS it is like any security organization, you have to put your own interpretation and use your own judgment just in case one of the rules to follow was not right. Besides "I am following orders" did not work with the Nazis. And it all depends on experience. Gibbs is experienced in the field and he is a Marine, so if a superior gives him an order that is not right, and if he feels that his superior did not go through proper channels, he can go over his or her head. Besides I suspect that the new director was hired because of political pressure, affirmative action, etc. I would have expected that Gibbs would have been the new director and Tony would have been in charge of the team.

I liked Ziva and Tony. It seemed that the new director was getting rid of them because Gibbs had told Tony to investigate him as well. I hope that they come back with evidence that the new director was using his new found power for his own selfish ends and was a power mad egomaniac (probably not much further than the truth.) If they had to get rid of Tony, (Ziva would have had to go back to Israel anyway) it could have been like the Frog's daughter comes back and there is a wedding.
