I particularily liked the picture of Nixon with him complaining that even he was fooled!
Do you find sites like this fun or do you think too many people take them seriously?

Hello Red,
Let me preface by declaring that I am not your typical 'conspiracy nut'. Though, I have to say that this one is a toughy for me.
The reason why is that my father, who was one of the most respected people that I have ever known, was adament that the USA never landed a man on the moon. He was a master electrician, who contracted his services to the DOD. He was an integral part of the conversion our our submarine fleet from diesel to nuclear (on Oahu, Hawaii), back in the mid to late 60s. After we left Hawaii, he was contracted in the Utah desert. To this day, I still don't know what he was doing out the in the desert, as my mother and us kids were living in California, and where my father only flew home on the weekends.
Yet, it was only after he took the Utah contract that he scoffed at our claims of having landed a man on the moon. While he never disclosed what he was actually doing in Utah (in the late 60s - early 70s), he would regularly declare, to my sibbling and I, that the alleged photo sight of the lunar landings was actually a desert location in Utah, and that he knew it to be so, because he had seen it with his own two eyes. Does that mean that he saw a sight that looked remarkably like the lunar images? Or does it mean that he witnessed the photo staging? I cannot say, as he honored his contractual security clearance to his deathbed.
So, take from my tale what you will. Forty years later, we still have not been back to the moon. Nor has any other nation, despite the concerted effort of the determined former Soviet Union.
I'm not going to declare that we have either been to the moon, or not. I'm only on the record as stating that the claims have yet to be proved, or disproved. I'll reserve any final judgement until we launch a future lunar expedition where we have real-time evidence of the our prior lunar experience of the late 1960s.

A mind boggling response that makes my head hurt to think about.

I think we may be going to the moon this time with a more practical purpose. There is some kind of rock with concentrated energy in it up there that is common there but rare here. Even if we couldn't bring it back, it might power a settlement.
Just imagine when we go back if they don't find the old lunar lander. How will they explain that?
Space Alien anthropologists took it to study how such a primitive creature could get to the moon.

Hello Red,
Mind-boggling? I wholeheartedly agree! And yes, it rather makes my head ache to think about it as well. Not surprisingly, this is not a subject that I would be inclined to bring up at a dinner party. I'm rather fond of the positive general perception of my state of mental health!
Being a huge fan of Science, I tend to lean toward the belief that mankind has sufficiently embraced Science to the degree that we have been able to navigate & return from the moon.
Though, how can I discount my own father's account? Especially since he was working for the D.O.D. in Utah, at the time in question???
It really is a toughy for me. Hence, the reason why I'm in full support of the USA launching another lunar expedition -- whether it's NASA or a private launch. I'd like to put this issue to bed once and for all, regardless of what the truth is.

Funny yes, but sad that people actually believe this stuff. I know it is hard for some to actually believe that man could land on the moon. I have heard both side and I have to believe that we where on the moon. At one time, when I was young, I did believe this nonsense. By problem was the flag. I could see the flag waving. Why was the flag waving if there is no wind. I found out that we they planted the flag that put the flag into motion. Of course since there is no gravity what is to stop the flag from moving. It made sense to me and I moved on.

I never even paid attention to any of these allegations as high powered telescopes watched the entire journey.

Howdy RYBDog, I have seen those shots. They are hilarious. But you know there really are people that will get something like that in email and believe it. I see it on forums all of the time. Not to mention The teenagers that hang out here at home with my son I will hear them bring something like this up.

While it is a terrible being so uninformed and uneducated, it would be nice to be a teenager again!

I think too many people take them seriously... there are far more important things to worry about then some made up nonsense about a government conspiracy to fake a moon landing.
After all of these years I can't believe this one still has legs.
Sheesh...

I believe there are several clues the web site creator(s) don't believe the moon landing was a hoax. They are having fun, IMHO.
