Heck, she was family for over 40 years and I like her. I've always enjoyed her company. Her ex, my eldest brother, died this past December, they'd only been divorced a year. Anyway, we had a great time!
Do you have ex-in-laws and do you get along with them? Are they part of your family? I love my former in-laws and we see each other when we can. My marriage may have been a disaster but I love my ex-husband's family and can't see giving them up.
How about you? Do you consider your ex-in-laws as still being in your family?

i dont have any ex-in-laws yet
but of course i consider ex-in-laws as family it never really ceases since if you had children with your ex husband then its a kind of a connection i guess..im not really seeing eye to eye on my in-laws..i love my husband but i guess during the past so many had happened although we are on speaking terms but i can sense that its not genuine..

Give it time. Sometimes we have disagreements with people or just rub each other the wrong way but it usually fades with time. Just keep being nice to them. And sometimes it has nothing to do with you, you just never know.

dragon, very nice for you to have a closed realtionship with your ex husband family and your es sister in law. Unfortunately, I do not had that close realtion. Though no one in my family and their spouse had a divorce. My brother and sister had married and I very rarely met their family in laws. Maybe only once or twice when they got married.

I keep in touch with my ex sister in law. She's always been good to me, and our boys are a similar age and enjoy each other's company. It would be a shame to fall out with people who are unrelated to the issue when something goes wrong in a relationship.
