What was the last book, you almost finished reading?

The last real book that I read was four years ago, while my daughter was in the hospital. It was by Anne Rice. I can't remember the name, but it was the book that combined the Vampire Lestat with a coven of witches. I wish I could remember the name. There was a red headed girl named Mona in it. I was only able to read a few chapters, though.
I've always thought about reading the rest of the book, but I haven't had time. Another book that I really enjoyed, but never finished, was a book about Queen Mary (Elizabeth's half sister) and her time on the throne It portrayed Mary in a much more sympathetic light than the Elizabeth movie. In the book, Elizabeth was seen as the bad guy who couldn't control her urges and was constantly scheming to take over her sister's throne.
It was pretty good, but stagnated around the middle. I got bored and turned the book back into the library. What's the last book that you started and then didn't finish? Do you think you'll ever finish reading that book? Why did you stop reading it? Was it boring? Or, did you just run out of time?

I am half finished with Stalemate by Iris Johnsen. It seems really good so far. It is about a womam that does work on skulls to help find out who someone is. The man she is doing it for this time seems like a bad mad but he has promised to help her find out how killed her daughter. I really like reading her books they are really good.

I have this weird thing about finishing books. I don't know that I have EVER started a book and not finished it. Sometimes it takes me a while, but I do always try to finish them.
Oh wait, I did start a book while I was at my parents' house, and I left it there, so I haven't finished it yet. I don't even remember the name of it or anything. I might ask my mom to send it to me later. I'm sure I will eventually finish it.

Welcome back beautyqueen. I haven't seen you in mylot in ages and have missed your discussions too. Not getting your notifications either.
The last book I read was A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle. I have only read bits and peices, paragraphs that make sense to me but have not finished it, and probably won't.

I love Anne Rice. Well most of her stuff. But this last one isn't my cup of tea. It's called Christ the Lord. I don't know what it is, maybe the little devil in me?, but after only 2 pages I found I had "important stuff" to do.
Can anybody tell me if it's worth the trouble of trying again?

Back when I was working, I worked a lot of hours and never had time to do anything. I always wanted to read the classics. Now I am disabled and have time so I have been reading them. The last book I did not finish was Lady Chatterly's Lovers. I just couldn't get into it. I don't know if I will ever finish it. I think I only got about 5 chapters in before I set it down.
