This makes the 2nd time that people that I have replied to thought I was a male. I am a female. My real name is Shaunee I just shortened it in here to the first part of my name with my birth year. At the same time it does have when you do to a persons name weather they or male or female. So to set the recored stright I am a woman not a man.

Hi Shaun, sorry to hear you were thought of as a male. Well, I know for that you're a female because of our previous discussions. I think those people who mistake you for that are new ones. I hope it doesn't bother you too much.
I also want to change my name and use a psuedonym but it's already there.

Now you I know you were a female because of the discussuions you have started and mommymo sounds a lot more like a female. I am glad you knew .I thought Shaun since my mother named me Shaunee sounded more like a lady. Also I went to school with a girl named Shawn. So names do get mixed up and that in understandable. I wish I could remember how to change my picture though.

Your post kinda reminded me an email I once sent to my new boss the SVP for Finance. In the company where i used to work, we have this knack of calling each other our initials and BRB or Bars Te. I thought the Bars stands for Barbara. I sent an email welcoming him and telling him that we all look forward working under his team. To my embarrassment, he sent me an email that SHE is a HE and his name is not Barbara. LOL! My fellow accountants scattered all over the country was copied in that particular email and they had a field day laughing their heads off. Needless to say, some names are really misleading. LOL!

Well thanks for setting the record straight. I'm not sure what I thought. Going by your avatar it is a little boy, and I would take a female would put a child as their avatar before a male.

It's alright. It is just werid because I went to school with a couple of girls there names where Shawn. My real name is Shaunee. I just went by Shaun for the first part of my name and 72 for the year I was born. It's no big deal really I mean anyone could have gotten confused.Which is way I started this discuission to get it strighted out . After being asked 2 or 3 times of being asked.

OK! I already knew that! LOL!
I know you're just talking to the people that did not know it. Honestly, I have no idea why someone would think you're a man. I think it's very obvious if a person would read your posts that you are a woman. I don't know why it's obvious. But, to me, it is. I can tell the difference. Maybe it's the things you discuss or how you discuss them. As a woman, I discuss things differently than a man, so I'm guessing other women do as well.
I try to emphasize the point that I'm a woman when I'm posting, plus I make references to my kid and spouse, so people don't think that I'm in the market. Cause I'm not.
I guess a person could misconstrue my posts to think I was a beautyqueen man. Anythings really possible if one tries. But, I guess it'd be odd if I were a man talking about pregnancy cravings and mood swings. So, there are little signs that point the way. I make it painfully obvious. Please tell me that someone notices that I'm a woman?!!!
BTW, you have such a beautiful name. I will have to put that one on my baby name list for the next baby. I start early! I'm still in pre-planning stage. Don't tell my hubby!

Thank you yeah. I answered a question about kissing. I said that I have only kissed men. Then I get a reply that asked if I was a man or a woman so I had enough. I mean since I have only kissed men that I am a female. Now I have my picture up. It's not the best but it clears everything up.

hi my friend,it's hard to mistake you as a male since you put your photo as your avatar, didn't you?
in fact,i never thought you are a man.maybe that's because i take the first sight at your avatar instead of others.

Well before I started this discussion I had my little nephew on it. Thinking well that is my newphew and my profile says female. I was wrong and learned the hard way and the same night I started this discussion I changed it to my picture. So I know now that is way people thought I was a male.

Actually this happens to a lot of people.
There name just come in the category of both male and female.
But i think it is not a big problem because the people who know u, know who u are.

That is true I just wanted to let those know who kept getting it confused. I use to go to school with a couple of girls named Shawn. My real name is Shaunee so I thought spelling it with a u. I doesn't really matter . It is just that there are a few on my friends list as well as others I wanted to much sure knew the difference. Since a few have thought I was a male.
