Do you like the skins in your mashed potatoes?

I have a hard time peeling potatoes, so I just cook them with them on still. Another reason is that most of the vitamins are in the skins and so this is also a way to sneak them in on my kids to eat a bit healthier. Now, hubby, he hates the skins in the potatoes. How do you like them, with or without the skins?

I've never had mashed potatoes with the skins. I do like to eat the skins from a baked potato, so I'd probably like that as well....

I love em either way. If i leave the skin on i scrub it first. That helps too. Maybe if you only remove half the skin your husband wount mind that much.

For mashed potatoes, I would normally take them off. For various dishes made from new/red potatoes, I leave them on. I've had mashed potatoes in restaurants with the skin on and they're ok, but I don't know if they're made from russet potatoes or what. I do love the skin on a baked potato, though. Scoop out the potato, add butter and salt to the warm potato skin and ohmy, I'm weak in the knees!

I do like the skins in my mashed potatoes. Especially if I'm using red potatoes. Add some garlic salt and garlic powder, or just some minced garlic. Oh Yum!! However it's quite rare I make my own mashed potatoes. Typically I will buy the potato flakes where you just add boiled water. Idahoan makes very good mashed potato flakes, and they come in a lot of flavors too. I'm not sure if you can find that, but it is inexpensive and easy.

I find that I like all my potatoes with the skins on these days. I wash them up real good then cut them up to be boiled or fried. I used to always peel them but when my hands got bad I started leaving the skins on them. The kids don't mind ether. Now it seems like a real waste to peel them even though I could peel them real close.

i all ways slice and fry or smother which ever you choose to say my potatoes with the skins on, the skin is where most of the vitamins are, and I like them fried with the skins and some sliced onions, I also eat the skins when they are baked. some take the skins and make potato skins out of them where they take out most of the potato and leave the skins and then add cheese and other things and broil them. My hubby also don't like the skins so when he is eating fried potatoes he peels them, but for me i will take the skins on mine.

My husband and I both like them but my son does not so we usually don't put them in but we prefer them. When I eat a baked potato I usually eat the potato skin and also like the potatoe chips and fried potatoes with skin on.

It really depends on my mood. I will leave them on sometimes if I am too lazy to peel them, but for the most part I peel the skin off. It just makes it easier to feed it to the baby if the skins are not all mixed up in them.

never tried leaving the skin on for mashed potatoes. friend was talking about having them in a restaurant other day & said they were real good. they were called dirty potatoes on the menu.didn't think that sounded too appetizing but she liked them. i like the skin on boiled, baked or fried potatoes.
