What kind of music are you listening to these days?

I have always gone with alternative, rock or pop music. Country is ok sometimes, but how many times are they going to sing about breaking hearts? I guess that is why I favor the older ones like Alan Jackson and George Straight. They can sing about a wide range of things and its good. Timeless.
I have never been able to understand the draw of rap or screamer music. Can someone tell me what the draw is? That is not to say a few select songs haven't made it into my repertoire over the years, but they are far and few between.
Are there any new genres?

I'm listening to my house and rave music from 1991.It's a time in my life that brings back good memories for me.And it makes the time pass when I'm surfing the net.

Rave music is pretty good. I prefer 80's though. Usually when I surf the net, I listen to a book on CD or something like that. Christmas time is a whole different ball game!

I usually listen to alternative music but I am currently into mellow music. I'm so stressed out with so many things these days and listening to mellow music help me relax.

I am not sure what you mean by mellow music, but I like soft rock and a little R&B occasionally.

I like listening to a lot of things. I mostly listen to alternative, indie, and blues. I do like variety, so I like songs that cross genre lines. There are tons of websites that showcase bands that have yet to be in the public. I'm constantly listening to online radio stations to find some more good music.

I am a little more of a stickler about my music. I listen to the same artist, unless I am caught by a new song from a new artist. Doesn't happen too often though.
What kind of music is Indie. Is it like instrumental? I like some of that like La Bohem.... That sort of thing.

i usually listen to bossa nova... or songs from he 60s up to the 80s. it's not that i don't like the new songs it's just that the new songs today almost sound the same with the other new songs and they easily bore me. Songs from before have better content that amuses me. Bossa nova is my music whenever i want to relax. i listen to it especially when i have a cup of coffee.

Is Bossa Nova a particular group? I too love 60s-80s. Mostly 80s though.
I have my exceptions. Green Day.... Nirvana.... Rob Thomas...
