The Stonehenge has been senselessly vandalized a few days ago. http://news.theage.com.au/world/stonehenge-monument-in-britain-attacked-20080522-2h8h.html This ancient site is not only a well loved site by fellow neo-pagans, it also stands as a testament of human will and ingenuity. To know that some idiots damaged it for whatever mindless reason is just sad :(

It is very sad and alas it seems to be a sign of modern times. Karma will be reaped though, I am sure of it.

I was reading about this earlier today and I do believe that someone would do it, but at the same time it's still wrong. One of my design teachers told me about her trip there once, they had tons of security because people wanted to take home part of the stone or they wanted to carve their name into it. Hopefully they can figure out who did it, but it's going to be hard.

It's sad but it's bound to happen. I'm sure it happens more often than we hear about. I don't see why they feel the need to mess it up. But people are ignorant and like doing forbidden things just because they can.

I haven't heard anything about this? What happened? This makes me so sad. I didn't have a chance to visit it on my trip to England, and now it's messed up. Do you know, is it fixable?

It's hard to believe that someone would do something so reprehensible to the ancient structures. What are they going to do with it? To try and sell it would make it easy for them to be caught, and the people who love the site would hate to see it vandalized so therefore wouldn't but it. I'm not a pagan, but I find the whole place totally fascinating - it's on my list of places I'll have to visit someday.

unfortunately.. the Stones are vandalized quite often.. especially when there is a celebration approaching (we are coming up on the Solstice soon) and the local druids use the site for their rituals. a few years ago there were riots DURING the rituals.. its was pathetic.
