I'm having a party soon and most of the folks love shrimp. I don't want to serve traditional shrimp recipes, but rather serve it in a way (or ways) that people didn't expect. One requirement: they must taste yummy! Thanks fellow shrimp lovers!

Hello, well here I am doing my first resond. Well I dont have a particular recipe that comes to mind, I have used a lot of shrimp though in my cooking. When I get in a bind and need help with recipes I use a particular website. www.allrecipes.com try this site out. Registration is free and you can complete your shopping list, create a cookbook, save recipes..etc. I have used it many times. Good luck

It sounds great! I'm going to check it out today and most likely register. I'm always a bit leery of looking up recipes on the net because I have no idea of how they'll taste. I asked here because I want first-hand comments and recommendations. Since you recommend this website, I'll definitely go there. If it's as good as you say, I'll probably not be seen prowling around myLot for awhile... I'll be busy cooking! LOL

i peel the shrimp, and leave the head and the tail attached. i saute it with oil garlic, onion and ginger. when the shrimp turns orange or red i pour ketchup on it. the ketchup will serve as the sauce of the shirmp. i put tabasco too. you can put a lot if you want it chili hot ot just put the tabasco on the table so if some of the visitors like it hot then they can put more. this goes well with rice or with toasted garlic bread. my friend do this on much smaller shrimps she takes of the head and the tail then serve this with pasta. i never treid it on pasta so i cant say if it is okay.

hi mentalward,( i hope this recipes is not too late) Whenever we go to a bbq my daughter and I will make a shrimp cocktail. I usually get the bag of shrimp that has around 20 to 30 of them. here's my recipe. shrimp 20 to 30 (cut in half) celery 1 stalk (diced) tomatoe around 4 (diced) cucumber 4 (diced) cliantro 2 bunches (chopped) avacado (if you want to add it on) ketchup at around 1/2 the bottle lemon juice add to taste pepper (only if you like it) tapatio (salsa in a bottle) like tabassco. you can also add water to make it juicy. mixed everything together. once mixed taste it and see if anything is missing. it goes good with tortillas chip.
