forgetting songs

How does it make you feel when you cant remember a song? I get really frustrated when I have a tune of a song in my mind and I cant remember the words or where the tune has come from, it wont go away until I finally work out what song it is,, and dont you just hate it when you've told someone you cant remember a song and they ask "what songs that" or "how does it go" coz they think they're going to be able to give you the answer 99 out of 100 they dont but next minute your naaa naaa naaa na naaaaaaaaa LoL you then get the look of "confusion" from them

same here, i'd get frustrated too if i cant remember what song or the lyrics, especially when i love the song and wanna sing it. usually i'll listen to it again or find the lyrics once i have the chance!

Thats the worst! when you really love a song and cant seem to remember!! when a new songs been released on radio it seems the more I want to hear the song, and find out the title and artist the less I hear it I hate that! LoL! but I get it eventually 8)

Yea that definitely works!! a huge majority of titles are found in the chorus.... I get frustrated when artists decide to name their song something 'completely different' to what they sing about, that really gets to me LoL

Its frustrating, especially if the song had a tie to something important in life. I then spend some time throughout the day figuring out what that song was. And yes trying to do the tune for the song so others can help you remember... that's also frustrating (to say the least). I think I've got it even worse than that Mystique. Some of my songs are a bit esoteric (themes to games or anime)... so asking people and imitating the tune is even worse in that case. Just magnify the blank look you get from others by about 10,000 and you'll have a picture of what I've seen in that case.

I also spend some time figuring out songs especially when wanting to download songs from certain genre or certain decade an yes I know all about the blank look lol I can only imagine how difficult it would be to identify a theme song from a game! thankyou for your reply!

That bothers me so much! In the past I kind of shrugged my shoulders if I forgot a song. Now it bothers me. For the past three months I have been dedicated to finding new music to listen to. I hear songs on TV that I like and I try to remember what the lyrics were so I could look them up. I now make sure I write down the lyrics so I can download it later on. And sometimes it's difficult if it's an instrumental song I like, lol. My philosophy is that someone online will always know what you're looking for.

Thanks for sharing, sometimes I write lyrics down, other times I'm like 'ah I'll remember' but dont half the time LoL

i get that a lot! i also get sooooooooo frustrated when i try to go back and try to remember the song!!! i also have this stubborn attitude that i don't want to ask anyone about it... i go like "don't tell me i know this!"

It's funny, I'm the one everyone always comes too when they want to know what a song is because I used to be really good at remembering these things. Lately though, I have been having a hard time with it. Now I seem to be forgetting them a lot of the time and it really bothers me, especially when they keep asking me and I have no clue half of the time.

Thanks for sharing!! Im sure you'll start remembering 8) I know it can get really annoying when you cant!! theres been a couple of times when I'm trying to remember a song or artist the more I try to think about it the less luck I have of figuring it out, so I think 'ah I'll just leave it' but then either the same day or a few days later it'll just pop into my head! very strange how the mind works!
