I live in the South and we do have lots of tornadoes in my state. This year has been one of the worst years for my state (Arkansas) for tornadoes. However, they really don't scare me that much. They aren't like a hurricane -- they aren't going to affect everyone for miles around. The chances of actually getting hit by one are pretty slim -- there's a much greater chance that you'll die in a car wreck. The chances of rebuilding and getting hit by yet another one are even slimmer. It's like your house getting burned down in a fire -- there's always a chance, but a much greater chance that it won't.
